Personal Injury Law Firm is seeking a candidate to fill a full-time legal assistant position for Pre-lit and Litigation for Florida and California. Duties will include gathering essential documents and information at the investigation stage of a case, maintaining client contact, staying on top of court and case deadlines, propound and respond to discovery, managing the client post-litigation, prepare for trial, and to assist the attorney in all aspects of pre-lit and litigation.
Similarly, the candidate MUST HAVE impeccable organizational skills, a fantastic personality, and be able to communicate well with clients via phone and e-mail. The candidate must also be able to think strategically and anticipate future tasks which should be completed.
Factors for Additional Consideration (which should be highlighted in your cover letter):
- Prior experience working for a plaintiff personal injury law firm (2+ years);
- Any prior experience working in a similar position (as a litigation paralegal);
- Conversational and written Spanish experience/skill (preferred but not required).
Starting compensation will be $25-35/hr based upon experience with a 90-day probationary period and subsequent ability to participate in the firm’s health care and dental plans as well as 401k.

Responsibilities and Duties:
– Maintaining weekly client communication.
– Following up on client’s treatment throughout the case.
– Drafting Demands.
– Negotiating liens.
– Maintaining and updating attorneys calendar.
– Prepare and manage all documents throughout the investigations stage.
– Assist attorneys in all stages of pre-litigation, litigation, including drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
– Conduct legal research and gather relevant case materials.
– Organize and maintain case files, including indexing and filing documents.
– Prepare and manage trial exhibits.
– Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to schedule hearings, depositions, and other meetings.
– Maintain confidentiality of client information.
– Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing calendars, and scheduling appointments.
Skills:
– Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities.
– Proficient in data entry and transcription.
– Familiarity with document management systems and legal research databases.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Conversational and written Spanish experience (Preferred)
– Experience and skills with different technological software
