San Diego Police are still looking for the driver of a sedan who turned in front of a motorcyclist who was headed north on Cesar Chavez Parkway in Barrio Logan.
The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. and the 30-year-old motorcyclist suffered a compound fracture to his leg and a serious head injury. The driver of the four-door sedan left the scene of the accident. According to police, the vehicle struck the motorcyclist as it was making a left turn.
Witnesses were unable to give a description of the driver.
Hit-and-run accidents have reached epidemic proportions in California. The motorcycle accident attorneys at the Jurewitz Law Group Injury & Accident Lawyers in San Diego find this kind of behavior particularly reprehensible. We have little sympathy for a driver who leaves an accident victim in the street to potentially die.
Often those who hit and run are intoxicated or are driving illegally at the time of the accident. If you have witnessed a hit-and-run and have pertinent information, you can either contact your local police or contact wetip.com to anonymously report a crime.
If you are injured in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident and the driver is never found, what are your alternatives for getting compensation for medical bills, hospitalization, therapy, and other expenses?
You can turn to your insurance company for financial assistance, but be aware that they are not always on your side. Like any business, they adhere to the bottom line and will leave you on the road figuratively, alone again, if it means preserving profits.
Fortunately, the Jurewitz Law Group Injury & Accident Lawyers in San Diego understands bad-faith insurance company tactics. We can guide you through the process so you can avoid the pitfalls of the claims process and get the compensation you deserve. Our advice is to never interact with an insurance adjuster until you have your case reviewed by an attorney.
