Tow Truck Leaves Vehicle in Traffic on I-5 South

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports that a red Jeep Compass is blocking traffic on Interstate 5 South near Cannon Road. A tow truck was called to remove this abandoned vehicle at 9:21 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28. However, the tow truck driver did not properly connect the car to the truck. The tow truck left the scene without the red Jeep in tow, creating a serious road hazard.

Police officers are in the area to direct traffic away from the vehicle. However, drivers should use caution when driving in this area or seek an alternative route. At this time, there have been no car accidents as a result of the abandoned vehicle.
