Pedestrian injured in a hit-and-run accident in Clairemont Mesa
SAN DIEGO, CA – 10 News reports that a 68-year-old woman was injured on Thursday afternoon when a pickup truck veered off the road and knocked down a light pole. The light pole fell on the woman, causing a laceration on the back of her head, and then landed onto a residential roof. The accident occurred at 3:35 pm on the 4800 block of Genesee Avenue.
The driver of the pickup truck, Pedro Matias-Perez, and his passenger ran from the scene of the accident. The 25-year-old passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his right arm. Matias-Perez was later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and felony hit-and-run.
