Pedestrian Accident on I-805

NATIONAL CITY, CA – A driver in a red sports car hit a pedestrian, who was running across the I-805 freeway. The car was driving sound on the freeway near Imperial Avenue when the accident occurred. The California Highway Patrol reports that the driver hit the pedestrian at 1:58 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.

The driver pulled off the road and into the HOV lane after the accident occurred. Two other vehicles that were not involved in the accident also stopped to assist. The accident blocked the HOV lane and three lanes of traffic on I-805, but police officers have now stopped all southbound traffic, so they can safely investigate the accident.

Officers on the scene called an ambulance for the pedestrian, who may have suffered significant injuries. This story is still developing, and we will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
