Man using crosswalk hit by oncoming vehicle in North Park

SAN DIEGO, CA – On March 30th, at 5 p.m., a 45-year-old man walking his bicycle across a crosswalk at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and Iowa Street was struck by a westbound Honda Civic. The San Diego Times reports that the man smashed into the windshield of the car and suffered an injury to his ankle, as well as a severe head injury. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Police report that intoxication was not a factor in the incident.
