Flying debris causes motorist to crash on I-5

SAN DIEGO – According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle crashed this afternoon at around 4:40 p.m. The incident occurred on Interstate 5 and State Route 76. Flying debris from an unknown source hit the windshield of a black vehicle driving northbound on I-5. The collision caused the vehicle to crash. It’s unclear at this time if the driver hit another vehicle.

Police say the bumper of the vehicle fell off the car and into the road, causing further hazards. No injuries were reported at the time of the accident.
