Fatal car crash leaves father dead and teenagers hospitalized in Del Mar
SAN DIEGO, CA – NBC reports that a father was killed and his teenage children hospitalized after losing control of his vehicle on Del Mar Heights Road in Del Mar. The roads were dangerous after hours of rain and a flash flood advisory; according to the San Diego police, the driver was driving too fast for the conditions. His black sedan veered right and crashed into a tree, splitting the tree in two.
The father was pronounced dead at the scene. His 15-year-old daughter suffered injuries to her abdomen, and the 17-year-old son suffered life-threatening injuries. Both were taken to a nearby hospital for care.
