Fatal Car Accident on Escondido Freeway
SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver crashed their car on Escondido Freeway near Mission Valley, causing the vehicle to burst into flames. Fox 5 San Diego reports that the accident occurred at 12:16 a.m. on Sunday, April 26.
Other drivers, who saw the accident occur, stopped their vehicles and rushed to assist the people trapped in the flaming car. These good Samaritans broke the passenger side window, and they were able to rescue the passenger from the vehicle. Unfortunately, they were unable to help the driver, who died in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol has released no information about the cause of the crash or the state of the passenger who escaped the vehicle. We will continue to monitor this story, and we will provide updated information as it becomes available.
