Driver leaves the scene after I-5 collision
SAN DIEGO, CA – A white GMC fled the scene after a blue Honda CRV crashed into the vehicle on Interstate 5 near Caramel Valley Road Tuesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol reports that the Honda’s right front tire blew out around 2:07 p.m. and caused the driver to crash into the GMC. The driver in the GMC did not wait at the scene for the police to arrive.
The impact caused significant damage and spun the Honda in the direction of oncoming traffic. Officials report that the vehicle was also leaking oil after the incident. The Honda’s driver called for a tow truck to remove the car from the road.
Police officers reported that the driver sustained no injuries from the accident.
