Animal on State Route 76 causes road hazard

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol warns motorists on State Route 76 near Rancho Del Oro to be cautious and drive slow this morning. Police received reports at around 10:46 that a live animal was on the highway, darting between the lanes.

CHP is on the way to remedy the situation now, but we caution all drivers in the area to be careful. Drivers going too fast to switch lanes or halt their vehicles can end up in serious accidents.

Large debris on Interstate 5 causes traffic hazard

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to the California Highway Patrol‘s traffic reports, a large roll of carpet is currently sitting between three lanes on Interstate 5 near Carmel Valley. San Diego Police are currently on their way to move the carpet, but the large debris is creating a major traffic hazard on the roadway.

Defective Traffic Signal on SR-15 South

SAN DIEGO, CA – A traffic signal at the intersection of SR-15 South and University Avenue displayed a red light for over 15 minutes. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that traffic is severely backed up at the intersection and some drivers have started running the red light.

CHP officers noted the problem at 11:40 a.m. on Monday, April 4, and they have requested an officer on the scene to direct traffic. Drivers in the area should use additional caution and watch for drivers running the red light.

Trash Can Blocking Traffic on Escondido Freeway

TEMECULA, CA – The California Highway Patrol reported a large trash can blocking a lane of traffic on the Escondido Freeway near McCall Boulevard. Officers noted the road hazard 12:38 p.m. on Monday, May 4.

Highway Patrol warns of dangerous debris on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists on southbound Interstate 15 this afternoon to be cautious in the Aero Drive area. Multiple vehicles have struck large debris on the roadway, spreading it across three lanes. Police have not reported if any of the affected vehicles have been damaged from the impact.

Bicycle Blocking Lanes on I-15 North

CHP Warns Motorists of a Young Pedestrian on SR-52

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Police is warning motorists near the State Route 52’s onramp to State Route 125 to drive cautiously. The police were alerted at 9:37 a.m. of a possible traffic hazard. A 14-year-old boy is traveling on and off the road, causing dangerous traffic and possible injuries.

Police are on their way to the scene to remove the young boy, but we ask all of our San Diego motorists in the area to be careful at this time.

Traffic Cones on I-805 North

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that traffic cones have fallen into two lanes on I-805 North and are creating a traffic hazard. The CHP received information about this hazard at approximately 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29.

Vehicles swerving to avoid furniture on Interstate 8

Tow Truck Leaves Vehicle in Traffic on I-5 South

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports that a red Jeep Compass is blocking traffic on Interstate 5 South near Cannon Road. A tow truck was called to remove this abandoned vehicle at 9:21 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28. However, the tow truck driver did not properly connect the car to the truck. The tow truck left the scene without the red Jeep in tow, creating a serious road hazard.

Police officers are in the area to direct traffic away from the vehicle. However, drivers should use caution when driving in this area or seek an alternative route. At this time, there have been no car accidents as a result of the abandoned vehicle.
