Motorcycle crash in South Bay, San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle and pickup truck were involved in an accident this morning in South Bay, San Diego. Police received alerts about the collision at around 11:11 a.m. and arrived quickly on scene. A red pickup truck and a motorcycle had collided on southbound Interstate 5 and E Street. It’s unclear how the accident occurred, but it appears that the motorcyclist was ejected off the motorcycle and into the roadway.

An ambulance transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, but the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.

Motorcycle accident on State Route 76

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to the traffic logs for the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle accident occurred this morning in Oceanside. The incident was reported at 9:09 a.m at 9885 State Route 76 in front of Bonnie Nursery. Police have not released details on how the accident occurred, but we can confirm a motorcycle and a Honda CRV were the two cars involved in the collision. 

At this time, it’s unknown if any occupants were injured in the crash.

Father Killed in Motorcycle Accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A man in his 50s was riding a Honda motorcycle with his 16-year-old daughter when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Fox 5 San Diego reports that the accident occurred on SR-76 near Rincon Ranch Road at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. Police officers believe the motorcycle was driving along a curve when the man lost control and drove off the road. The bike overturned and threw both the rider and his daughter onto the ground.

Police officers pronounced the man dead on the scene, and they transported the 16-year-old to a local hospital for treatment. The 16-year-old sustained some injuries in the accident, but the police do not believe any of her injuries are life-threatening. Officers are still investigating the accident to determine what caused the driver to lose control.

18-year-old motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Rancho Bernardo Crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – An 18-year-old motorcyclist suffered severe injuries in a collision with a car yesterday afternoon. The young man was riding westbound in the 16600 block of Pomerado Road when an 80-year-old woman driving eastbound in a 2008 blue Chrysler PT Cruiser made a left-hand turn into his path. Unable to avoid a collision, the motorcyclist hit the right side of the PT Cruiser and was thrown from his vehicle.

The Chrysler suffered some damage to the front right passenger door, but the woman was not injured in the accident. The Times of San Diego reports that emergency responders transported the young man to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening head injuries.

Motorcycle Accident on I-8 East

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports that a silver Toyota truck crashed into a motorcyclist while driving on Interstate 8 east near Waring Road. The accident occurred at 1:34 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. The motorcyclist was on the ground next to the bike, when officers arrived on the scene. The police believe this rider may have sustained injuries in the crash, have called an ambulance to assist the motorcyclist.

The accident is blocking the right-hand lanes on I-8, while police officers are clearing the accident. Drivers should take caution in this area or find an alternative route if possible.

Motorcycle accident near Lemon Grove

SAN DIEGO, CA – Caltrans San Diego reports that a motorcycle was involved in a collision yesterday evening east of Lemon Grove. The accident occurred at around 7:07 p.m. on eastbound State Route 94. CHP have not confirmed if other vehicles were involved in the accident at this time. The three rightmost lanes were closed for police cleanup and investigation.

It’s unclear at this time if the motorcyclist or any other persons involved were injured in the accident. We will update you when we learn more.

Motocross Champion Killed in Dune Buggy Accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – Marty Smith and his wife Nancy died on Monday night, after crashing their dune buggy in the Glamis Dunes. A San Diego native, Marty Smith was celebrated in his hometown and across the nation as one of the greatest motocross riders. At the height of his career in the 1970s, Smith won three AMA motocross championships.

Motorcyclist suffers major injuries after crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reports that a motorcyclist has suffered major injuries after a crash this afternoon. The collision occurred at 12:50 p.m. at northbound Interstate 805 and Murray Ridge Road. According to police, the incident was a one-vehicle crash. It’s unclear how the accident occurred, but it appears that the motorcyclist hit the rail on the on-ramp.

Hit and Run Motorcycle Accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A red Kawasaki motorcycle hit a commercial truck, as the truck was turning at the intersection of Enrico Fermi Drive and Siempre Viva Road. The accident occurred at approximately 9:26 a.m. on Thursday, April 23. The motorcyclist was driving at high speeds, which prevented him from stopping before hitting the semi-truck. The driver fell off of his motorcycle in the collision.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) traffic incident page, the semi-truck’s driver stopped the vehicle and attempted to exchange information with the motorcyclist. However, the motorcyclist refused to provide his information and told the semi-truck driver he did not want to involve the police. The motorcyclist drove away after this exchange.

CHP officers are currently looking for the motorcyclist who left the scene. They have identified the rider as a Hispanic man in his late 20s. They believe he is approximately five feet and six inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds.

Motorcyclist killed in accident in Miramar Ranch

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 26-year-old man died after crashing his motorcycle on Scripps Poway Parkway in Miramar Ranch. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the motorcyclist was driving his motorcycle at a high speed when he hit a center curb, went over the median, and crashed in the eastbound lanes of Scripps Poway Parkway near Spruce Run Drive. The man died at the scene of the accident.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
