Alpine Woman Aggravates Back Condition After Wheelchair Falls on Bus
The Jurewitz Law Group helped an Alpine woman and foster mother to two children after her wheelchair fell over as she rode in a Laidlaw Transit bus in East San Diego County. At the time of the accident she suffered from a number of conditions and had a preexisting back condition that was largely pain free but became aggravated after her wheelchair fell.
We alleged that the bus company driver failed to properly secure the wheelchair to the bus and failed to follow protocols that lead to our client's fall. Due to the preexisting nature of her complaints and no significant objective changes found when comparing MRI films, the difficult of the case was to prove what injuries were caused and to what extent by the bus accident.
Following a successful mediation, our office was able to obtain a settlement of $27,500 for our client.
