Yolo County, CA- Boy Killed And 4 People Injured In A Crash Near Sacramento International Airport
A speeding driver crashed his vehicle into a pick up truck Tuesday night, June 18, 2019, near the Sacramento International Airport. The crash killed a boy and injured 4 people, including 3 children. The crash occurred a few minutes after 9 pm on northbound Interstate 5, just north of County Road 22. A Nissan pick up truck had been travelling down the interstate when a speeding BMW came up behind it. According to the California Highway Patrol, the BMW crashed into the truck, pushing it off the road and down an embankment, where it overturned and landed in a field. The 5 year old boy who was a passenger in the Nissan died. 3 girls, ages 5, 7, and 10, sustained serious injuries. The children’s father, 29-year old Luis Figueroa, was driving the truck involved in the crash. The said 3 children were passengers in the truck. Figueroa also sustained serious injuries. Figueroa and his children are Woodland residents. Sane Carlyle, 34, of Sacramento, was identified as the driver of the BMW. He sustained minor injuries from the crash. After Carlyle is treated for his injuries, he is expected to be booked in the Yolo County Jail under the suspicion of manslaughter and driving under the influence. Carlyle was already on DUI probation at the time of the crash.
