Woman seriously injured by Bird electric scooter crash
SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman sustained severe head injuries after crashing a Bird electric scooter in the Ocean Beach area on Sunday afternoon
According to the Times of San Diego, the woman was riding on the sidewalk along Cape May Avenue when the scooter hit a crack in the 4900 block at about 3:30 p.m., sending her flying from the scooter.
Authorities found the 27-year-old woman suffering from life-threatening injuries and transported her to an area hospital. Her injuries included a brain bleed and a fractured skull.
An investigation is ongoing. Police are asking witnesses to contact officials with any information concerning the accident.
