Ventura, CA- Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck By A Car On Highway 101
A bicyclist riding his bike on Highway 101 was killed when he was struck by a truck on the freeway north of Ventura, CA on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. The crash occurred around 8:52 pm on the northbound side of Highway 101, just past the “State Beaches” exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.The bicyclist was identified as a 67-year old man from Oxnard. He had been riding in the slow lane of the freeway, according to CHP. An Isuzu truck was being driven by a 26-year old Oxnard man. He was heading north in the slow lane, when, for unknown reasons, the truck struck the bicycle and threw the rider from the bike. The bicyclist was declared deceased at the scene. The truck driver stayed at the crash site following the accident.
