UPDATE: Wrong-way driver on Interstate 5
SAN DIEGO, CA – We posted earlier today about a wrong-way driver on Interstate 5. At the time, police were not indicating that the wrong-way driver caused any accidents. We can now confirm that at least one person was injured due to a collision with the wrong-way driver. A white four-door compact vehicle was found overturned at 394 West Calle Primera at around 3:00 p.m.
Witnesses told police that they were hit by a silver Toyota Tundra, the same vehicle that police found driving in the opposite lanes of Interstate 5.
The driver the white vehicle was injured in the accident. Medics on the scene transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of the injuries sustained in the accident is unknown at this time.
