Update: One Marine dead, two injured, and eight more missing in amphibious vehicle accident
SAN DIEGO, CA – Last week, we posted a story about an amphibious vehicle accident. The accident left one Marine dead, two injured, and eight missing. CBS 8 News reports that as of this morning, the eight missing individuals have been identified and are now presumed dead. Of the eight, seven individuals were Marines and one was a Navy sailor.
Military officials searched for the missing individuals for 40 hours across over 1,000 square nautical miles before calling off the search. A Marine spokesperson says that this accident is the worst amphibious vehicle accident in military history.
