Roads shut down in El Cajon after watermain break

SAN DIEGO, CA – The El Cajon Police Department shut down a section of the roadway after a watermain break caused flooding on Friday morning.

According to Fox News San Diego, Broadway was closed between North First Street and Oro Street after the break in the early morning hours.

A photo from the scene show the road completely underwater.

Drivers were asked to use alternate routes.

Vehicle careens into Mountain View home

SAN DIEGO, CA – Emergency crews in Moutain View responded to reports of a vehicle crashed into a residence early Tuesday morning.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the incident was reported at about 3:40 a.m. within the 3900 block of Franklin Avenue.

Police say a blue sedan left the roadway and crashed into the home. All people inside the house were able to escape without sustaining any injuries.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the collision at this time. No details regarding the identities of those involved have been made available as of yet.

1 killed, 2 injured following San Ysidro crash

SAN YSIDRO, CA – A Santa Ana man was killed after crashing through a metal barrier at the San Ysidro port of entry into Mexico Tuesday afternoon.

According to 10 News San Diego, the incident occurred around 2:14 p.m. when a 27-year-old male driver careened into the metal swing arm barricade before crashing into two vendors in the area.

The driver was killed as a result of the collision. The two vendors, a 70-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, were transported to a Mexican hospital to be treated for moderate injuries. No information with regard to the identities of those involved has been released at this time.

Pedestrian killed in Lakeside bus accident

LAKESIDE, CA – Police have released the identity of the man killed after being struck by a bus in Lakeside in early December.

According to East County Magazine, 68-year-old Eduardo Hernandez was attempting to cross Woodside Avenue on December 4th when he was struck by the bus.

Hernandez was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries following aggressive resuscitation efforts. Investigators are working to determine an official cause of the accident.

No charges have been filed against the bus driver involved as of yet.

I-5 connector shut down following late-night collision

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to block off a busy interstate connector following a late night collision Tuesday.

The accident occured along the connector from northbound I-5 to westbound State Route 76 shortly before 11 p.m., according to Caltrans.

No injuries have been reported as a direct result of the collision. However, the ramp was blocked for over two hours, repoening shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Multi-vehicle crash blocks lanes on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to shut down multiple lanes following a late-night crash on I-15 Tuesday.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. within the southbound lanes of I-15 near the exit to Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

No serious injuries were reported as an immediate result of the crash. However, the far left two lanes were blocked for just under an hour, reopening at about 11:35 p.m.

One person injured in solo-vehicle accident in Julian

JULIAN, CA – A solo-vehicle accident occurred this morning in Julian’s Whispering Pines neighborhood area. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near the intersection of Banner Road and Whispering Pines Drive at around 10:07 a.m.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a pickup truck overturned off the roadway and the driver of the vehicle outside the truck.

The motorist suffered unknown injuries in the crash and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Hit-and-run accident reported near San Clemente Park

SAN DIEGO, CA – A hit-and-run accident occurred this morning in San Diego near San Clemente Park. According to the California Highway Patrol’s incident logs, the collision happened on State Route 52 and Genesse Avenue at around 11:27 a.m.

A white Porche wagon was traveling westbound on SR-52 when an unknown vehicle crashed into the wagon and fled the scene. No details on the suspected vehicle have been released at this time.

Wrong-way driver reported on Interstate 15

SAN DIEGO, CA – A wrong-way driver was spotted this morning in San Diego. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported on Interstate 15 and Claremont Mesa Boulevard at around 11:10 a.m.
