Two-vehicle collision sends woman to the hospital
ESCONDIDO, CA – A silver truck and a black Honda collided on the SR-78 East around Rock Springs, reports California Highway Patrol.
The truck and the Honda collided on the road around 5:49 p.m. One of the drivers was a woman and was trapped in her vehicle. The fire department was able to extricate her and she was sent to the hospital for injuries. It is unknown if the other driver was injured.
The right-hand lane of SR-78 heading east was shut down to traffic for authorities to work on the other vehicle. A tow truck was called to the scene to pull the vehicle away from the embankment and remove the disabled vehicles.
Authorities remained on the scene to investigate the crash and the circumstances leading up to it. The right lane was closed for over two hours as the vehicles were removed. Traffic is moving freely through the area now.
