Two children, ages 8 and 6, suffered serious injuries in a San Diego car crash that occurred on December 26, 2011, at Van Dyke Avenue near El Cajon Boulevard. According to California Highway Patrol, the children were struck when a Nissan Maxima they were exiting unexpectedly lurched in reverse. The older boy suffered a broken arm and the younger one suffered head injuries.
The 42-year-old driver who was parking the car that the boys were exiting accidentally stepped on the gas while it was in reverse.
If the motorist is determined to have been at fault in this case, then he could be held responsible for this car wreck that left two kids injured. At this time, the injured victims’ family members should immediately seek counsel from an experienced San Diego County pedestrian accident lawyer who would educate them about their legal rights.
The kids’ family members may file a personal injury claim against the car driver to obtain compensation to cover medical, hospital and treatment cost, and other accident-related damages.
Our personal injury law office hopes that the injuries suffered by both the kids heal soon and do not prove fatal.
