Two hurt when skydiving plane crash-lands in east Oceanside

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Two people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a skydiving plane crashed near Oceanside Municipal Airport in east Oceanside, reports NBC San Diego.

The collision occurred in an area near Foussat Road and California Highway 76, at approximately 12:47 p.m.

According to Oceanside Police, a Cessna 208B Caravan plane operated by GoJump Oceanside, a skydiving company, lost altitude and crashed before reaching the airport, its intended destination.

Footage at the scene shows the aircraft at rest on its nose, with its tail pointed into the air.

The pilot and one passenger were rushed to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries.

No other occupants were on board the plane, which is designed to hold 9 to 13 passengers.

No further information has been made available at this time.
