Two hurt after suspected DUI crash on SR-94 in Lemon Grove

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Two people were hospitalized late Friday after a two-car crash involving a suspected DUI driver on California Highway 94 in Lemon Grove, reports OnScene.TV.
The collision occurred on the onramp from Massachusetts Avenue to the eastbound highway.
A man was speeding eastbound on the highway when he attempted to take the exit to Massachusetts Avenue. He was unable to turn and lost control of the vehicle as it entered a grassy area between the eastbound offramp and onramp. His vehicle edged into the onramp, where it went airborne and struck a female driver’s car on the onramp. The man’s car came to rest on its roof, and the woman’s vehicle was left totaled.
Both drivers were transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities said they suspected the male driver to have been impaired at the time of the crash and sent a blood tech to the hospital for verification.
The event blocked the eastbound onramp for over an hour.
No further information has been released.
