Two hurt after crash with parked vehicle in Allied Gardens

Publish Date: 2021/09/24

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman and her 2-year-old child were injured Thursday in a crash involving a parked vehicle in San Diego’s Allied Gardens neighborhood, reports OnScene.TV.

The collision occurred on Greenbrier Avenue along a residential area and was first reported by OnScene.TV at 7:26 a.m.

Few details have been made available, but the woman was driving a Honda sedan east on the road when she struck a parked pickup truck. The impact of the crash caused the Honda to flip onto its roof.

Nearby residents worked to extricate the woman and her toddler from the overturned car before police arrived. The child was sitting in the backseat, strapped into a child’s seat.

Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The woman told authorities that at one point she became blinded by the sun and was unable to see the road ahead of her.

No other details have been released.
