Traffic News: Closed off-ramps have disrupted drivers
SAN DIEGO, CA -Four drivers found themselves stuck and scared Tuesday night after finding the final I-5 off-ramp was closed, reports California Highway Patrol.
On the I-5 south, construction closures have been impacting night time traffic. Drivers missed a sign on the road informing them the final off-ramp on the I-5 was closed.
The California Highway Patrol drove to the area the cars were stuck and found three more had made the same error. The CHP was able to help the cars navigate a safe turn around through the center divider. The seven cars made it to another exit safely.
The California Transportation Department reported there are signs near the Camino De La Plaza reporting the exit is closed, however, drivers may not have noticed it.
Officers are investigating whether the signage could have turned around from weather or if it is in a poor location for drivers to acknowledge.
