Three people hurt after driver crashes while allegedly fleeing police in Rancho San Diego
RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA – Three are injured, and a man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly collided with a minivan while fleeing a police pursuit in Rancho San Diego this morning.
The Times of San Diego reports that the crash occurred on Jamacha Road and Brabham Street at about 10:50 a.m., after the driver of a green Geo Metro reportedly sped away from an officer attempting to make a traffic stop.
The driver, 34-year-old Joshua Furister, allegedly drove in a reckless manner, passing other vehicles over the center line. He reportedly ran a red light, then crashed with a black minivan.
Furister and his passenger, along with the driver of the minivan, were taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
Furister is facing charges of reckless driving and felony reckless evading arrest.
The identities of the other two victims were not immediately released.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
