Vehicle fire blocks lane along I-5 during rush-hour
SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to block one lane following a vehicle fire on I-5 during Thursday evening’s rush-hour.
According to Caltrans, the incident was reported within the southbound lanes of the interstate near 28th Street at about 5:30 p.m.
SB I-5 south of 28TH St, right lane closed due to a vehicle fire.

No information with regard to what may have sparked the fire has been released at this time. However, rush-hour commuters faced delays in the area as the far right lane was blocked for about a half-hour following the incident.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze.
