Medical emergency leads to reckless driving, multi-car crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was rushing down Interstate 15 because of a medical emergency when the driver lost control in Temecula on Monday.

According to CHP, a small silver sedan was hitting speeds of over 100 MPH and weaving around traffic on southbound Interstate 15 when the driver lost control near Bundy Canyon Road at about 11:30 a.m. The vehicle had struck several other vehicles, including one that overturned. The suspect’s vehicle was spun around in the accident and they left the scene going the wrong way as the occupant was struggling with a  medical emergency.

The overturned vehicle began to smoke and then caught fire. One person was out of the vehicle and people on the scene were able to extricate the second occupant.

Traffic quickly backed up behind that accident scene, which was blocking several lanes. All lanes were reopened about an hour after the crash.

An ambulance responded to the scene but no one was injured in the accident.

At least one person injured in Temecula crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – Several vehicles were involved in a crash on Interstate 15 on Wednesday morning, leaving at least one person injured in Temecula, according to California Highway Patrol.

A Dodge Ram pickup truck was driving southbound when it rear-ended another vehicle near Winchester Road at about 5:51 a.m. The chain-reaction crash ended up involving four other vehicles, including three sedans and one other truck.

The vehicles were blocking the far left-hand lane as well as the right-hand lane, as the dust began to settle.

At least one person was injured in the accident and transported by ambulance from the scene.

One lane was blocked in the area while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Ambulance responds to Temecula crash scene on I-215

SAN DIEGO, CA – An ambulance responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 in Temecula on Thursday afternoon, according to CHP.

The accident happened in the northbound lanes near Newport Road at about 3 p.m. Several vehicles were involved including a white Ford F-150, a black Chevrolet Malibu, and a silver Nissan Altima. The Nissan Altima was severely damaged on the front end. It was towed from the scene along with the other vehicles.

An ambulance responded to the scene. At least one person refused treatment but it is unknown if everyone escaped without injury. We will update this story should more information become available.

Elderly man involved in Temecula crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – An elderly man was involved in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 74 in Temecula on Friday morning, according to the CHP.

The California Highway Patrol was able to be almost immediately at the scene on State Route 74 near West Ellis Avenue. A silver four-door sedan had struck a pole and a silver minivan at about 8:38 a.m. One of the drivers was an elderly male, but it unclear which vehicle he was in.

An ambulance reported to the scene. Injuries have not been confirmed.

Car takes down power lines in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities responded to a single-vehicle crash that took down a telephone pole on a Temecula area backroad on Thursday morning.

According to CHP, a silver Chrysler 300 went off the road, down an embankment, and struck the telephone near the intersection of Avenida la Cresta and Via Entrada just before 7:30 a.m. The car was about 50 feet down the embankment.

The telephone pole was broken at the bottom and power lines were down across the road. It took emergency crews about an hour to clear the scene and reopen the road.

Injuries have not been confirmed.

Minor injuries reported after Temecula crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – Minor injuries were reported in a multi-car accident on Interstate 15 in Temecula on Tuesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident involved three or four cars that crashed on Interstate 15 north near State Route 79 at about 6:02 a.m. One of the vehicles overturned and landed upside down.

At least one person sustained minor injuries in the crash. It also seemed that a dog was killed because of the accident but it unclear whether the animal was inside a vehicle or in the roadway.

The crash was blocking all but one lane. The lanes were not reopened until almost 7:30 a.m.

I-15 multi-vehicle crash reported in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – No injuries were reported in an early morning Temecula car traffic collision on Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol.

A white sedan was driving erratically and swerving between lanes on Interstate 15 near North Main Street, at about 3:15 a.m. The white sedan struck a Toyota which then hit a truck.

The driver of the Toyota was able to tell police that he was uninjured, but his car had landed in the center divide. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene, as did the other involved vehicles.

The condition of the other drivers could not be confirmed.

Rollover crash reported in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – A single-vehicle accident was reported on State Route 79 in Temecula on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

Few details were available about the solo-vehicle crash that happened at about 6:52 a.m. A passerby reported the crash and noted the vehicle was upside and resting on its roof.

It was unknown at this time if any was in the vehicle when the passerby called in the accident or if anyone was injured in the accident.

Two-car crash reported in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle car accident was reported in Temecula early Tuesday, according to the area traffic incident website.

The accident involved a Scion and another vehicle, and was reported at about 6:45 a.m. in the 38100 block of Spring Canyon Drive. The severely damaged Scion was leaking radiator fluid and had an obviously impaired axle.

No injuries reported in multi-vehicle Temecula crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A multi-vehicle traffic collision was reported on Interstate 15 on Thursday afternoon in Temecula.

According to the area CHP report, the accident between a white Nissan Altima, a red Volkswagen Tiguan, a white Kia Sorento, and a white Honda sedan happened at about 2:17 p.m.

The collision was in the southbound lanes near the Railroad Canyon off-ramp.

There were no injuries in the crash.
