No injuries after truck runs into tree in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – No injuries were reported after a pickup truck ran into a tree in a rural area of El Cajon early on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

A white Dodge Ram pickup truck ran off the road into a tree near the intersection of Pile Street Pamo Road at about 5:45 a.m. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and reported no injuries.

The factors that caused the crash are unknown.

A tow truck responded to the scene and towed the vehicle.

Airbags deploy in single-vehicle accident in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Am ambulance responded to a single-vehicle incident on eastbound State Route 78 in Oceanside was reported to CHP on Wednesday afternoon.

The report described an older black Mercedes that had spun out and the airbags deployed near Smilax Road. The passenger in the vehicle, the driver’s wife, said that the vehicle did not hit anything and the airbags deployed for an unknown reason.

The driver of the car hit his head on the windshield during the incident. An ambulance responded to the scene but further details have not been confirmed.

The vehicle was blocking the roadway but was quickly moved to the righthand side.

Car skids off road in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A car accident was reported early Monday morning on State Route 78 in El Cajon, according to the area incident report.

The accident happened a few minutes before 6:30 a.m. An initial report stated that there were skid marks on the road from where the vehicle went off the roadway and an ambulance was called to the scene.

The California Department of Forestry was among the officials who responded to the crash scene. After investigation, they reported that there were no injuries.

After the vehicle was recovered, the occupants were able to leave in it.

UPDATE: Single vehicle crash kills one and sends two to the hospital

SAN DIEGO, CA – A single-vehicle collision with a tree killed one person and sent two to the hospital, reports NBC 7 San Diego.

This is an update to an earlier story.

A Jeep carrying two passengers slammed into a tree on Pala Temecula Road in north San Diego. Officers were dispatched to the area and found the Jeep had been severely damaged and that multiple people were trapped inside.

Witnesses helped extricate the driver and one passenger. The other passenger was partially ejected from the force of the crash and died at the scene. An ambulance took the driver and passenger to the hospital with major injuries.

Officers believe speed played a factor in the collision. It was also discovered that the driver was under the influence of cannabis which may have impacted his driving. The driver was arrested at the hospital after officers finished processing the scene.
