Vehicle fire blocks lane along I-5 during rush-hour
SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to block one lane following a vehicle fire on I-5 during Thursday evening’s rush-hour.
According to Caltrans, the incident was reported within the southbound lanes of the interstate near 28th Street at about 5:30 p.m.
SB I-5 south of 28TH St, right lane closed due to a vehicle fire.

No information with regard to what may have sparked the fire has been released at this time. However, rush-hour commuters faced delays in the area as the far right lane was blocked for about a half-hour following the incident.
No injuries have been reported as a result of the blaze.

Vehicle fire reported on SR-905
SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle fire along State Route 905 during Monday evening’s rush-hour.
The incident was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. near the exit to Britannia Ave. when a passerby noticed someone waving their hands outside of a dark-colored sedan that appeared to be on fire, according to CHP.
Moments later, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames along the shoulder. Both occupants in the vehicle were able to escape without injury.

Marine saves toddler from burning vehicle
FALLBROOK, CA – A Marine from Camp Pendleton was able to rescue a small child from a burning vehicle in Fallbrook on December 7th.
According to KTLA, Gunnery Sgt. Kyle Wetter came across a burning vehicle with the child’s mother standing on the outside. The father was inside the vehicle working to free the child who was locked in their car seat.
Wittner was able to use a knife to cut the seatbelt and free the child before anyone involved sustained serious injuries.
Details regarding the cause of the vehicle fire remain unclear at this time. The precise location of the incident is not mentioned in the report.
