Truck crashes into post office building in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A tractor-trailer crashed with a Jeep SUV and ran into a post office building in El Cajon on Thursday morning, according to CHP.

The white semi truck crashed with a silver Jeep 4-door SUV near the intersection of Austin Driver and Sweetwater Spring Boulevard at about 6 a.m. The truck then hit the backside of the post office building in the area.

Both drivers were able to exit their vehicles but it is unclear whether either sustained injuries.

Truck driver extricated from rolled truck in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A truck driver was extricated from an overturned tractor-trailer after a crash on State Route 94 in El Cajon on Thursday morning.

According to CHP, a tractor-trailer crashed in the 29000 block of SR-94 at about 6:05 a.m. The truck was overturned and blocked both directions of traffic.

The male driver was trapped in the truck that had started smoking and was attempting to break the window to free himself.

He was treated for injuries after he was extricated. An update on his condition has not become available.

Update: Truck involved in fiery crash that injured SUV driver

SAN DIEGO, CA – The driver of an SUV was injured in a fiery accident involving a tractor-trailer in Tierrasanta early on Wednesday morning.

According to local Fox News, a Ford Flex was eastbound on State Route 52 at about 6 a.m. The Ford collided with the back of a tractor-trailer near Santo Road and then left the road.

The front end of the SUV caught fire and the flames spread to nearby bushes.

The driver of the SUV was injured in the accident and taken to a local hospital. An update on their condition has not become available.

Truck fire causes extended closures in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – A tractor-trailer fire causes extended closures on Interstate 215 in Temecula on Wednesday evening, according to CHP.

A tractor-trailer fire was reported in the northbound lanes on I-215 near Scott Road at about 5:40 p.m. The fire started near the engine and quickly grew.

Traffic began backing up behind the incident and authorities closed all but one lane until after midnight. The roadway was reopened by Thursday morning.

It is unclear how the fire began or if anyone was injured in the accident.

Overturned tractor-trailer blocks SR-79 in Aguanga

SAN DIEGO, CA – A tractor-trailer crashed and overturned, blocking both directions of State Route 79 in Aguanga on Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, the driver of the tractor-trailer was driving on SR-79 when they struck an embankment near Sage Road at about 3:36 a.m. The truck overturned on its side, spreading debris and blocking both lanes.

Traffic was completely blocked for more than an hour. Sometime after 4:45 a.m, authorities were able to begin directing some traffic around the accident scene, however, the truck was still blocking the northbound lanes. Authorities had not been able to clear the scene by the early afternoon.

The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Overturned dump truck spills material on SR-67

SAN DIEGO, CA – A dump truck overturned on State Route 67 Tuesday morning, spilling its contents across the highway.

According to CHP, a semi pulling a bottom dump trailer was traveling south on SR-67 at about 6:25 a.m. when the vehicle overturned near Slaughterhouse Canyon Road.

Troopers say the vehicle spilled an unknown material across the roadway. All lanes were blocked for some time while crews worked to safely clean the spilled materials and remove the truck.

No one was injured in the accident.

Truck fire reported in San Diego airport parking garage

SAN DIEGO, CA – A truck fire was reported inside the parking garage at the San Diego International Airport early on Sunday morning.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the truck was parked inside the parking structure for Terminal 2 when it caught fire at about 2:45 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found the burning truck but were unable to get their fire vehicles inside the parking structure. Using hose extensions, they were able to put out the fire in about half an hour.

An arson investigator is working to determine the cause of the fire.

One person injured after propane truck rollover

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was taken to the hospital after a propane truck overturned in Oceanside on Wednesday, afternoon, according to CHP.

A propane truck overturned in the 19900 block of Elfin Forest Road at bout 2:30 p.m. The truck was leaking fuel onto the roadway after the crash.

The road was shut down from Harmony Grove Road while emergency crews and a hazmat team worked to clear the scene.

The driver was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of minor injuries.

Pickup truck with horse trailer involved in Poway crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A tractor-trailer crashed with multiple vehicles including a pickup truck and trailer on State Route 67 in Poway on Tuesday afternoon, according to CHP.

The tractor-trailer collided with the pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer with multiple horses, near Poway Road a few minutes after 1 p.m. Several more vehicles became involved after the initial impact.

Both lanes were blocked by the accident, and the tractor-trailer began leaking diesel onto the roadway. All northbound traffic was turned around at Scripps Poway Parkway while workers called for a sand truck and sweeper to address the spill.

It is unknown at this time if anyone was injured.

Early morning big rig collision blocks lanes on I-215

MURRIETA, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a multi-vehicle collision involving a big rig early Tuesday morning.

According to the CHP, the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-215 just south of the exit to Los Alamos Road at about 6 a.m. 

Authorities at the scene of the crash have reported a big rig along with other vehicles stopped along the center divider. The truck sustained significant front end damage with the container rolled on its side in the roadway.

It is unclear whether any injuries were sustained as a result of the crash. Motorists have been advised to avoid the area as lane closures are likely throughout Tuesday morning’s rush-hour.
