Road debris punctures vehicle’s gas tank in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was damaged this morning due to metal debris on Interstate 15. According to the California Highway Patrol’s accident logs, a Black Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near State Route 78 when he ran over metal debris in the roadway. The debris punctured his gas tank and left the motorist unable to continue driving.

According to the CHP, the Ford had to be towed from the scene. The driver did not report any injuries at the time of the accident.

Stalled trailer on Interstate 8

SAN DIEGO, CA – This morning, a trailer stalled out on the Morena Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 8. According to Caltrans San Diego, the incident was reported at around 6:44 a.m. Police shut down the ramp for about an hour and a half to get the trailer off the roadways. At this time, it’s not clear what caused the trailer to stall.

Semi-truck sends road debris into nearby car, shattering the window

SAN DIEGO, CA – A traffic occurrence happened this morning in Oceanside at around 8:40 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, an international, red semi-truck drove over road debris and unintentionally shot the debris backwards into a black Toyota driving behind him. The front window of the Toyota shattered from the impact.

Both parties pulled over on the side of the road and cooperated with the police. Neither driver reported any injuries in the accident.

Traffic hazard on I-805

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists of several stopped cars on Interstate 805. According to the traffic log, police were alerted to several vehicles pulled over to the central divide at around 9:53 a.m. The vehicles were stopped on northbound Interstate 805 near Interstate 8. At this time, it’s unclear why the vehicles pulled over.

Police are on the way to handle the situation now. We caution drivers in the area to be aware of the stopped cars and drive slowly to avoid an accident. Our team will monitor the situation and update if new information is released.

Road hazard on Interstate 15

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists on northbound Interstate 15 of a broken down off-road vehicle near the 9th Avenue offramp. The police were alerted to the stalled vehicle at around 2:58 p.m. and arrived quickly on the scene. The owner of the vehicle told police that they wanted to fix the vehicle at that location and did not want to tow it away.

Police are handling the situation now. Drivers in the area should be aware of the stalled vehicle and drive cautiously as to avoid an accident.

Metal in roadway causes major road hazard

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists on Interstate 805 of a large piece of metal in the roadway. According to the report, police were alerted to the incident on northbound I-805 near Sweetwater at around 11:05 a.m. At this time, no accidents have occurred from the metal debris, but cars have reported swerving and quickly changing lanes in order to avoid an accident.

Damaged vehicle causes major road hazard on I-805

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists of a damaged vehicle on northbound Interstate 805 near the University Avenue off-ramp. According to the report, a grey SUV is pulled on to the lefthand side of the road and is blocking lane #2 of the the off-ramp. The driver of the vehicle told police that the vehicle had overheated around 10:07 a.m. and wouldn’t drive any further.

Police caution drivers in the area to be aware as they come around the curve that a vehicle is parked there. Drivers should proceed with caution in order to avoid an accident. The CHP is currently on the way to handle the situation, and our team will post an update if any accidents are caused by the stopped vehicle.

BBQ grill in roadway causes traffic hazard on Interstate 5

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol was alerted to a traffic stop on Highway 5 near the Pacific Highway on-ramp this morning. Police officers responded to the scene at around 10:37 a.m. and found that a large BBQ grill was laying on the roadway. Motorists in the area were having to slow down and merge into other lanes in order to pass the road debris.

UPDATE: Road debris near Sea World causes traffic hazard

SAN DIEGO, CA – Our team posted earlier about a ladder in the roadway near Sea World that was causing vehicles to swerve in order to avoid the debris. The California Highway Patrol reports that an accident was caused by the ladder this morning. A vehicle was hit when the ladder fell off a truck traveling southbound on Interstate 5. According to police, a witness caught the incident on video and alerted police to the accident at around 11:40 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle struck by the ladder was uninjured in the collision. It’s unclear how much damage the debris caused the vehicle.

Road debris causes accident on SR-54

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to the traffic logs from the California Highway Patrol, road debris caused a single-vehicle collision this afternoon in San Diego. A vehicle was traveling westbound on State Route 54 near Interstate 85 and had to swerve to avoid hitting tire debris in the roadway. The impact from the swerve caused the driver to crash into the center divide wall.
