SAN MARCOS, CA – The California Highway Patrol reported a road hazard accident this morning in San Marcos. According to the traffic report, the collision happened on State Route 78 and San Marcos Boulevard at around 8:05 a.m.

A vehicle was traveling on the eastbound lanes of SR-78 when they crashed due to debris in the roadway.

No injuries are being reported at this time.

Vehicle crashes into large rock on roadway in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA – A vehicle crashed into a boulder this morning in El Cajon near Cuyamaca Business Park. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on State Route 67 north of Broadway Street at around 7:09 a.m.

A motorist was traveling northbound on SR-67 in his black Escalade when he crashed into a boulder sitting in the middle lane. The vehicle was significantly damaged in the accident; however, the driver did not report any injuries.

Traffic was delayed while a cleanup crew removed the rock.

Road hazard on Wisecarver Truck Trail

SAN DIEGO, CA – A road hazard was spotted this morning on Wisecarver Truck Trail. A witness called the California Highway Patrol at around 7:29 a.m. and told police that lots of debris had come off the back of a white vehicle. The vehicle then sped away, although it’s not clear if they were aware they had dropped debris.

Cow on the roadway in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A cow was loose on the roadway this morning in El Cajon. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident was reported at around 10:37 a.m. A motorist in a red truck called in the report, telling police officers that a loose cow was running on and off the roadway at San Felipe Road and State Route 79.

Road debris punctures vehicle’s gas tank in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was damaged this morning due to metal debris on Interstate 15. According to the California Highway Patrol’s accident logs, a Black Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near State Route 78 when he ran over metal debris in the roadway. The debris punctured his gas tank and left the motorist unable to continue driving.

According to the CHP, the Ford had to be towed from the scene. The driver did not report any injuries at the time of the accident.

Stalled trailer on Interstate 8

SAN DIEGO, CA – This morning, a trailer stalled out on the Morena Boulevard on-ramp to Interstate 8. According to Caltrans San Diego, the incident was reported at around 6:44 a.m. Police shut down the ramp for about an hour and a half to get the trailer off the roadways. At this time, it’s not clear what caused the trailer to stall.

Semi-truck sends road debris into nearby car, shattering the window

SAN DIEGO, CA – A traffic occurrence happened this morning in Oceanside at around 8:40 a.m. on northbound Interstate 5. According to the California Highway Patrol, an international, red semi-truck drove over road debris and unintentionally shot the debris backwards into a black Toyota driving behind him. The front window of the Toyota shattered from the impact.

Both parties pulled over on the side of the road and cooperated with the police. Neither driver reported any injuries in the accident.

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol is warning motorists on northbound Interstate 15 of a broken down off-road vehicle near the 9th Avenue offramp. The police were alerted to the stalled vehicle at around 2:58 p.m. and arrived quickly on the scene. The owner of the vehicle told police that they wanted to fix the vehicle at that location and did not want to tow it away.

Metal in roadway causes major road hazard
