OCEANSIDE, CA – The California Highway Patrol reported that a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck were involved in a collision in Oceanside this morning. According to the traffic report, the accident occurred on northbound Interstate 5 near Trails State Beach at around 8:10 a.m.
When the police first arrived at the scene, they found a white van stopped in the left lane and assumed it was a one-vehicle crash. However, a witness told the authorities that a semi-truck had been involved in the collision. The semi-truck was found a little further down the roadway.
According to the woman in the white van, a wheel came off of the semi-truck and hit her vehicle, causing her to crash into the center divide. It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the collision.
SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle was damaged this morning due to metal debris on Interstate 15. According to the California Highway Patrol’s accident logs, a Black Ford Escape was traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near State Route 78 when he ran over metal debris in the roadway. The debris punctured his gas tank and left the motorist unable to continue driving.
According to the CHP, the Ford had to be towed from the scene. The driver did not report any injuries at the time of the accident.
