Fire breaks out at Encanto-area house

SAN DIEGO, CA – Firefighters responded to a house fire in the Encanto area yesterday afternoon, according to KUSI. It took them roughly a quarter of an hour to extinguish the blaze.

There are no reported injuries due to the fire, which erupted in the 6000 block of Upland Street at approximately 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

The single-story home was empty at the time.

Fire threatens traffic at I-8 in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA – A brush fire broke out near I-8 and Main Street this afternoon, threatening traffic until fire fighters were able to extinguish it.

Caltrans Tweeted that all lanes were open at 2:54.

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol reported that the fire shut down the exit ramp.
