CARLSBAD, CA – A man was hit and killed by a train Monday afternoon when he failed to step off the tracks near Carlsbad Village Train Station. The incident occurred near Grand Avenue and Washington Street.
Coaster train service was stopped due to the death.
Those affected by the train service stoppage were offered bus service.
The man died at the scene and his name was not made available to the public.

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a dark colored mini-van type of vehicle on August 26 around 1:45 a.m. in the 3200 block of Mission Avenue. According to Oceanside police, the pedestrian was struck by a minivan believed to be in the early 2000s or late 1990s model near Airport Road.

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a pickup truck on July 17 around 12:15 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Washington Street in the Mission Hills area. According to the police, the pedestrian stepped into the path of the Ford pickup and was struck.
