Woman identified in fatal La Mesa pedestrian accident

LA MESA, CA – The San Diego Medical Examiner’s office has released the identity of a woman killed as the result of a La Mesa hit-and-run accident on New Year’s Eve.

According to NBC San Diego, the incident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. when 54-year-old Kelly Cameron was struck while jogging within the 4700 block of Harbinson Avenue. She suffered blunt force injuries as a reuslt of the impact and died a short time later.

Police say Cameron was struck by a Subaru WRX driven by a 27-year-old woman. The incident has since been ruled an accident.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the crash.

All lanes blocked following collision on SR-76

SAN DIEGO, TX – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to shut down several lanes on SR-76 following a traffic collision Wednesday afternoon.

According to Caltrans, the accident involving a tanker truck occurred shortly after 3 p.m. within the southbound lanes of the freeway near Community Church Drive.

No injuries have been reported immediately following the crash. However, troopers closed all eastbound lanes for nearly five hours while the accident was investigated and cleared from the roadway.

Details regarding the cause of the collision remain underway. All lanes have since been reopened.

Single-vehicle collision reported along I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision along I-15 late Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, the accident was reported shortly before 11 a.m. within the southbound lanes of I-15 near Black Mountain Open Space Park.

Troopers say the driver of the vehicle skidded off the roadway and collided with a tree. Two female occupants were able to exit the vehicle and were standing on the shoulder following the crash.

No injuries have been reported at this time. However, this situation is still developing. Motorists have been advised to proceed with caution in the area throughout Wednesday afternoon.

Hit-and-run collision reported on I-15

OCEANSIDE, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a hit-and-run collision along I-15 during Tuesday morning’s rush-hour.

According to CHP, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-15 just south of the exit to East Mission Road at about 7:30 a.m.

The driver of a big rig reported a White Ford F-150 struck his vehicle from behind before fleeing the scene of the crash.

Fortunately, the truck driver was uninjured in the crash. Motorists have been advised to proceed with caution while traveling along this portion of I-15 throughout Tuesday afternoon.

Multiple lanes closed following collision on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities were forced to block at least two lanes along I-15 following a multi-vehicle collision on I-15 Tuesday morning.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. within the southbound lanes of I-15 near Duenda Road.

No further information with regard to the cause of the crash or if any injuries were sustained as a result has been made available at this time.

The right two lanes were blocked for about a half-hour following the incident. All lanes have since been reopened.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to close all westbound lanes along State Route 78 late Sunday night.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 10:40 a.m. along SR-78 near the exit to Sycamore Avenue.

No injuries were reported as a direct result of the crash at this time. However, all westbound lanes were closed for about four hours reopening at about 2:40 a.m.

Vehicle careens into San Diego apartment complex

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two people were taken to the hospital, and several evacuated after a vehicle crashed into an apartment building Wednesday afternoon.

According to KGTV, the accident occurred at the apartment complex within the 5000 block of Barstow Street at about 3:30 p.m. causing a gas leak within the building.

Both the driver responsible for the collision and an SDPD officer was transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries sustained as a result of the crash.

Hazmat crews respond to chemical spill following Santee collision

SANTEE, CA – Several vehicles were involved in a collision near the Mission Gorge Shopping Center that resulted in a chemical spill Wednesday afternoon.

According to NBC San Diego, the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. along Cuyamaca Street near the intersection with SR-52.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision. However, a hazardous materials crew was called to the scene to clean up the spilled chemical.

Motorists and commuters on the Metropolitan Transit System faced significant delays while the incident was cleared from the roadway.

Driver flees on foot after colliding with fire hydrant in downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver walked away from their vehicle after crashing into another vehicle then destroying a fire hydrant early Monday morning.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the accident occurred near the intersection of G Street and Park Boulevard at about 6 a.m.

Police believe an unidentified man driving a four-door Chevrolet sedan ran through a red light and collided with another vehicle before running up on the curb and knocking over a fire hydrant. The driver then exited his vehicle and walked away from the scene.

Neither the driver in the second vehicle nor his dog was injured as a result of the collision. An investigation into the man responsible for the crash is likely underway.
