Rollover crash in Alpine injures four people

ALPINE, CA – Four people were hurt Sunday morning after two vehicles collided on Interstate 8 in Alpine, according to The Times of San Diego.

The accident happened on I-8 near State Route 79 at about 11:06 a.m. when a Toyota van crashed into a black Honda sedan.

One of the vehicles rolled over, coming to rest upside-down, though the report did not specify which vehicle it was.

Four people, who were not publicly identified, were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Two elderly people hurt after car rolls down San Marcos hill

SAN MARCOS, CA – Two elderly people were hurt in a car accident Sunday morning when their vehicle rolled down a hill in San Marcos, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident happened at the intersection of Schoolhouse Way and San Elijo Road at 9:22 a.m. when the 84-year-old driver of a 2017 Toyota Prius failed to make a right turn, a mistake allegedly due to his traveling at a high rate of speed.

The Prius collided with a curb and drove over the sidewalk, then went down the hill and landed on its side against a fence.

The driver and a passenger, a 77-year-old woman, were trapped within the wreckage when emergency personnel arrived at the scene. They were extracted from the wreck and then taken to the hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.

Both victims are expected to survive. Their identities have not been released at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.

Motorcyclist breaks leg in San Pasqual accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A collision between a motorcycle and a car in the San Pasqual area Saturday afternoon led to a man breaking his leg, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident occurred on San Pasqual Valley Road just before 3:45 p.m., when a 45-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle. He traveled into the lane of oncoming traffic and struck a 2017 Subaru Outback.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with multiple fractures in his left leg.

The driver of the Subaru, a 66-year-old man, is not reported as being injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident.

Collision creates traffic hazard on I-8

SAN DIEGO, CA – A vehicle collision was blocking one lane on Interstate 8 Thursday afternoon, according to the area traffic incident report.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident, which was reported at about 3:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near the exit for Fairmount Avenue.

Multiple private ambulances were called to the scene, but there do not appear to have been injuries in the accident.

The accident was quickly cleared to the right-hand shoulder then resolved.

Driver injured in crash with building in City Heights

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorist was injured Saturday when they crashed their vehicle into a building in City Heights, NBC 7 reports.

Police arrived at the 4500 block of University Avenue at approximately 7:40 a.m. and found an SUV stalled next to a damaged exterior wall. They believe the SUV collided with a second vehicle before crashing into the storefront.

The driver suffered minor injuries in the crash. Drugs or alcohol were determined not to be factors in the crash.

The cost of the damages is unclear.

Crash reported on Jamacha Blvd

RANCHO SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Highway Patrol reported a traffic collision at 10707 Jamacha Boulevard this evening. They do not believe any injuries were incurred.

A Honda Pilot collided with a Mazda 6 at approximately 7:12 P.M. It is unclear which driver was at fault for the crash.

The vehicles had pulled to the right-hand shoulder by the time CHP officers arrived at the scene. It does not appear that traffic was impaired.

Crash partially blocks entrance to Coronado Bridge

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle crash partially blocked eastbound lanes exiting the Coronado Bridge this afternoon, according to the California highway Patrol.

The crash was initially reported at 3:44 p.m. Two black vehicles were blocking the left lane of eastbound 75. A tow truck was called to the area to clear the wreck.

No injuries have been reported.

Caltrans vehicle involved in collision in Universal City

SAN DIEGO, CA – A Caltrans vehicle driven by a Department of Transportation employee was involved in a collision with a Chevrolet Cruze this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol’s traffic information page.

The collision occurred on the 805 directly opposite MCAS Miramar, and both vehicles were pulled to the side of the road when CHP arrived on the scene. It is not clear at this time which driver was at fault.

CONSTRUCTION ALERT: 2 lanes on CA-905 closed near Brown Field today

SAN DIEGO, CA – Maintenance work will close two lanes of traffic on CA-905 at mile marker 4.41 today from 6:01 a.m. to 6:01 p.m., 511 SD reports today. The work will clean the road surface. Expect delays in the area and consider alternate routes if possible.

The work is being conducted between Exit 6 (Britannia Boulevard) and Exit 4 (Caliente Avenue), approximately the midway point in the 905’s passage through Pacific Gateway Park. Otay Mesa Road, just north of the 905, will remain open to traffic.

At least one injured in two-vehicle crash at CA-75 and I-5

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of CA-75 and I-5 this afternoon, the California Highway Patrol reports.

Police say that a red Nissan Rogue collided with a red Ford Escort at approximately 2:37 p.m. It is currently unclear which driver was responsible for the crash.

The driver of the Nissan was taken to Sharp Chula Vista for x-rays. No additional information about their condition is available at this time.
