Injuries reported in violent two-vehicle crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A two-vehicle crash left multiple parties injured and a light pole damaged in San Diego this morning. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident at around 8:56 a.m. and police quickly arrived on the scene to State Route 163 and Interstate 805. According to the incident report, a green Ford and a grey Ford Mustang were traveling southbound on SR-163 when they collided for unknown reasons.

The impact of the collision caused the Mustang to spin out and crash into a light pole. The green Ford went off the side of the road and overturned. An ambulance was called to the scene, but the extent of the injuries sustained in the crash is unknown at this time.

Ambulance called in El Cajon two-vehicle crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in El Cajon this morning. The California Highway Patrol reports the police responded to the incident at around 8:52 a.m. at the intersection of Tyler Street and Sweetwater Road. According to the report, a white Nissan truck and a gold Toyota truck collided for unknown reasons.

Both vehicles were heavily damaged and deemed undriveable at the scene. At least one of the drivers was injured in the accident, but we have no details on the injuries at this time. Our team will monitor the situation and post an update if new information becomes available.

Oceanside collision reported near Pala Casina

SAN DIEGO, CA – A traffic collision between two vehicles was reported early Monday in Oceanside, according to a regional CHP incident report.

The accident happened at the intersection of Pala Mission Road and Pala Temecula Road at about 5:30 a.m. A Ford 150 pickup truck had collided with a Toyota Prius near the Pala Casino.

There were no injuries in the accident.

A tow truck was called to the scene, as the vehicles were not drivable, but had trouble getting to the accident scene because of Monday morning traffic.

Car skids off road in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – A car accident was reported early Monday morning on State Route 78 in El Cajon, according to the area incident report.

The accident happened a few minutes before 6:30 a.m. An initial report stated that there were skid marks on the road from where the vehicle went off the roadway and an ambulance was called to the scene.

The California Department of Forestry was among the officials who responded to the crash scene. After investigation, they reported that there were no injuries.

After the vehicle was recovered, the occupants were able to leave in it.

Woman injured on 805 Monday

SAN DIEGO, CA – A Monday morning accident on Interstate 805 resulted in one woman injured and her vehicle down a hill, according to CHP.

The accident happened near State Route 54 a few minutes past 7:15 a.m. A vehicle was down the hill near the off-ramp after losing control.

After the accident, a woman exited the vehicle and was bleeding. An ambulance was called to the scene to treat her injuries, however, a driver stopped at the scene to ask if the bleeding woman was okay, presumably before emergency vehicles were able to arrive. He agreed to take her to Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.

He left the woman at the hospital.

The ramp remains closed following the incident.

Video shows airport crash hit-and-run driver

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to a local news report, a truck was seen driving away from a multi-vehicle accident scene near the airport Saturday morning.

The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. near Harbor Drive and Lee Court. The three-vehicle collision was between a sedan, a Ford F-150, and the white truck that fled the scene.

Bystanders acted quickly to capture the car on video as it drove away. The driver’s side tire was bent after the collision and the vehicle was spewing white smoke. The driver took off toward the east, made a U-turn at McCain Road, and headed in the opposite direction.

A police vehicle quickly made pursuit and apprehended the driver, who was arrested.

Pregnant woman injured in hit-and-run on I-5

SAN DIEGO, CA – A pregnant woman’s car was struck in a hit-and-run accident on southbound Interstate 5 on Friday afternoon.

The collision was reported to CHP at about 3:21 p.m., and occurred in the southbound lanes near H Street. The accident left a white Toyota Camry in the center divide.

An ambulance had been called to the scene to treat the victim, a woman about 5 months pregnant. However, injuries have not been confirmed.

Verbal altercation follows Oceanside crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – A traffic collision between a motorcycle and sedan escalated to a verbal altercation in Oceanside, according to the area incident report.

The accident happened on northbound Interstate 15 near the east on-ramp from State Route 76 at about 3:10 p.m.

The motorcycle and an unknown dark-colored sedan came to rest on the righthand side following the incident. The motorcycle’s rider was seen yelling at the female driver of the sedan.

Whether the accident resulted in injuries was unknown on Friday afternoon.

At least one woman injured near Clairmont Mesa Blvd

SAN DIEGO, CA – A multi-vehicle traffic collision left at least one person injured on Friday afternoon in the southbound lanes of I-15, according to CHP.

The accident was reported near the north exit for Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. The collision was between four vehicles, including a gold sedan and a white sedan. Two of the vehicles were in the center divide, while two others came to rest on the right-hand side of the roadway and were blocking one lane.

A 19-year-old woman collapsed after exiting her vehicle and was having trouble breathing. Another woman may also have been injured in the accident.

The other parties appeared to be alright following the incident.

Caltrans spread awareness for Stop on Red

SAN DIEGO, CA – The California Department of Transportation is bringing awareness to red-light runners and the accidents they cause.

In their Twitter feed, Caltrans San Diego posted a graphic from AAA about the 31% of drivers who admit to running red lights in 2018. According to AAA, 31% of drivers in a 2018 survey admitted of running a red light in the previous 30 days.

Caltrans added that many traffic deaths and many more injuries are caused by red-light runners every year.

This week is National Stop on Red week. Stay on the safe side.
