One person suffers burn injuries during Mount Hope house fire

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was injured during a house fire late last night in the Mount Hope area, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The blaze began on Quail Street, near Market Street, at about 11:50 p.m., when a home caught fire.

An as-yet-unidentified victim was lying outside the home with severe burn injuries when firefighters arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The home sustained severe damage from the fire, which led four people to be displaced from their residence.

The fire remains under investigation at this time.

Pedestrian suffers head wounds after being struck by vehicle in City Heights

SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a vehicle while he was walking across the street in the City Heights area yesterday, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The collision occurred near the intersection of Marlborough Avenue and University Avenue at 5:10 a.m., when the 54-year-old victim walked across the street.

He was then struck by the 65-year-old driver of a Hyundai vehicle, and sustained multiple head wounds. He is expected to survive.

The pedestrian may have been intoxicated at the time of the accident, though conclusive evidence about the man’s state of health was not immediately available.

The driver was not reported as injured.

One person injured, seven displaced in Mountain View house fire

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was injured and seven people were forced from their home as a result of a house fire in the Mountain View area this morning, according to the Times of San Diego.

The blaze began in the area of 3820 Teak Street at about 3:30 a.m., when a kitchen caught fire.

The fire spread to the rest of the house, two vehicles that had been parked outside the structure, and some trees located nearby.

One person was taken to the hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.

The residents – three children and four adults – were able to safely evacuate the structure.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

At least one person killed in Felton Heights area in NE San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities have reported that at least one person was killed on an I-805 ramp in the Felton Heights area this afternoon.

According to Fox 5 San Diego, the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. on northbound I-805 near the ramp for El Cajon Blvd.

While authorities have revealed few details about the incident, we know that at least one person died as a result.

Lane closure due to road maintenance on I-805

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to Sandag there will be a lane closure from milepost 14.30 to 14.30 affecting two lanes of traffic on June 11, from about 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The closure will be between Exit 13A: SR-94 to Exit 13 B: Home Avenue.

The closure will be impacting traffic on Thursday, June 11, from 6:01 a.m. to 18:01 (or 6:01 p.m.).

There will be work on the drainage connector.

There is no expectation of a delay for commuters in the area.

UPDATE: Williams arraigned from incident where family was killed when woman struck them while driving on suspended license

ESCONDIDO, CA – According to NBC San Diego, Ashley Rene Williams, 28, was arraigned yesterday for causing a crash which killed a family of four who were taking a walk. She was arrested about a month after the incident.

Williams pleaded not guilty to four counts of vehicular manslaughter and murder.

The incident occurred May 5.  According to reports, Williams was driving on San Pasqual Valley Road near Oak Hill Drive, where she struck four pedestrians who were out on a walk.

The victims were Carmela Camacho, Abel Valdez, Yovanny Felix, and Emmanuel Rivas.

Williams’s license had been suspended following a previous DUI incident.

She had drugs in her system and was distracted by her phone at the time of the accident.

Williams’s bail was set at $1 million.

The Escondido Police Department wanted to inform the public that the delay in making an arrest was deliberate. Authorities wanted to ensure thorough investigations so prosecutors have the evidence at their disposal to secure a conviction.

Teen fatality from Mesa Rock Road hit and run

ESCONDIDO, CA – According to the Times Advocate, On Saturday June 6 at approximately 12:36 a.m. a 17-year-old was struck by a white Toyota or pickup truck, while conversing with her friends on Mesa Rock Road, South of Deer Springs Road.

The vehicle left the scene after striking the young woman. Neighbors and friends tried to revive the teen but she died at the scene.

Witnesses say the vehicle involved was either a white Toyota SUV or a pickup truck.

Evidence was gathered at the scene. Videos were also gathered to be reviewed by the California Highway Patrol.

The driver was later found to be a Mr. Paul Anthony Lissona. He was arrested and charged with felony hit and run.

Bicyclist injured when struck by car in East Village

SAN DIEGO, CA – According to Times of San Diego,  A bicyclist was taken to the hospital after he was struck by a Honda Accord, late Tuesday evening.

A thirty year old man was riding his bicycle in the East Village when he ran through a stop sign at the corner of G and 17th street.

The fourty year old driver of the 2019 Honda Accord struck the bicyclist. The driver stayed around to speak with police.

Officers believed the cyclist’s injuries were not life threatening, but he was transported to the hospital to receive treatment. It is not believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
