Teen driver suffers liver wound, passenger hurt after crash in Point Loma Heights

SAN DIEGO, CA – An 18-year-old driver was seriously hurt, and another man suffered a leg injury during an allegedly speed-related crash in the Point Loma Heights area early yesterday.

According to ABC 10 News, the accident happened at about 12:20 a.m. in the 2700 block of Worden Street, when an 18-year-old driver collided with another vehicle that was making a left turn from Polack Avenue onto Worden.

The impact pushed one of the vehicles into five vehicles that were parked nearby.

The 18-year-old driver, who was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred, sustained a liver laceration during the crash. His passenger, identified only as a man in his 20s, suffered a leg fracture.

The second driver was not reported as injured.

The teenage driver was investigated for DUI, though it is unclear what the results of that evaluation were.

The identities of the passenger and drivers were not released.

21-year-old woman hurt after early-morning crash into pole in Rolando area

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 21-year-old woman was hurt after she collided with a utility pole early this morning in the Rolando area, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. in the 4500 block of College Avenue, when the driver failed to properly round a curve in the roadway. She went off the side of the road, then collided with a telephone pole.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical wounds.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

22-year-old motorcyclist in critical condition after T-bone accident in Mira Mesa

SAN DIEGO, CA – A crash between a motorcycle and an SUV in Mira Mesa last night led to a 22-year-old man being taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Marauder Way and Camino Ruiz at about 10:30 p.m. when the motorcyclist T-boned a Toyota Rav4 SUV.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with multiple, severe injuries, including multiple fractures.

The other driver was not injured in the accident.

One of the drivers, though it is unclear which one, reportedly ran a traffic light just before the collision.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.

Pedestrian suffers broken arm after being hit by car in El Cajon

EL CAJON, CA – A woman suffered injuries after she was hit by a car at an intersection in El Cajon last night, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident occurred near the intersection of East Madison and the 400 block of North 2nd Street at about 9 p.m. when a woman was walking across the roadway.

The victim, who has yet to be publicly identified, was struck by a driver, and then suffered injuries including a broken leg. Her wounds are not thought to be life-threatening.

Authorities do not believe that the driver, who remained at the scene after the collision, was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

The collision forced multiple lanes of the roadway to close while authorities investigated.

Car crashes into hydrant, apartment building, creating electrocution risk in Santee

SANTEE, CA – A car collided with a fire hydrant and an apartment building, creating what the San Diego Sheriff considered to be an extreme hazard in Santee this morning, according to Fox 5 San Diego.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Woodside Ave and N Magnolia Ave when a driver crashed into a fire hydrant, then into an apartment building.

The vehicle struck a utility box, causing the water from the hydrant to become charged, authorities feared.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office warned people to avoid the area due to the serious risk of electrocution.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

Pedestrian dead after being hit by freight train near Old Town Transit Station

SAN DIEGO, CA – A person died last night after being struck by a freight train near the Old Town Transit Station, according to ABC 10 News.

The accident happened in the 4000 block of Taylor Street sometime before 9:25 p.m. when a pedestrian, whose identity has yet to be publicly revealed, was hit by a BNSF train.

The victim died at the scene.

Motorcyclist with major injuries in SUV crash near Lake Murray

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was seriously hurt after colliding with an SUV near the College Heights area yesterday, according to ABC 10 News.

The accident happened in the 5000 block of Campanile Drive, near the intersection with Montezuma Road, around 7:45 p.m. when the 20-year-old driver of a Subaru WXR drove out in front of a 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 48-year-old man, was sent to the hospital for the treatment of multiple fractures.

The Subaru driver was not hurt in the collision.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash at this time.

Motorcyclist breaks leg in San Pasqual accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A collision between a motorcycle and a car in the San Pasqual area Saturday afternoon led to a man breaking his leg, according to the Times of San Diego.

The accident occurred on San Pasqual Valley Road just before 3:45 p.m., when a 45-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle. He traveled into the lane of oncoming traffic and struck a 2017 Subaru Outback.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with multiple fractures in his left leg.

Pedestrian, 62, severely injured in Torrey Highlands accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – A pedestrian was critically injured this morning in a collision in Torrey Highlands, according to a report by the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The incident happened around 8:15 a.m. on Carmel Valley Road, near Camino Del Sur.

The victim, a 62-year-old man, was attempting to run across the street at a crosswalk when he collided with the door of a Honda Civic driven by an unnamed 24-year-old man.

The victim suffered life-threatening injuries, including major head trauma.

According to the report, the Honda’s driver had a green light when the accident happened.
