One dead, two injured in crash near San Onofre power plant

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person died after a rollover crash that also injured two other people on Interstate 5 in Oceanside on Tuesday morning.

According to the Times of San Diego, a 2002 Ford Explorer was northbound near the San Onofre Nuclear Power Station and the San Onofre beach when it overturned for unknown reasons at about 5:50 a.m. The car was carrying a 71-year-old man, his wife, and was driven by his son.

The elderly man was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. He died at the scene before the medevac helicopter was able to arrive. His 70-year-old wife was airlifted to Scripps La Jolla Hospital and their 43-year-old son was transported to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo. All three were Los Angeles residents.

Lanes were closed for about two hours while emergency crews worked at the scene and to give room for the helicopter to land.

Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

At least one person injured in high-speed rollover crash on SR 94

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was injured in a high-speed rollover accident on State Route 94 early on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

The driver of a white sedan was speeding up eastbound State Route 94 when they lost control near the exit for Federal Boulevard just after 4 a.m. The vehicle overturned on its roof down an embankment.

The first people on the scene stated that the occupant of the vehicle was not immediately exiting the vehicle. Minor injuries were reported.

Vehicle rolls twice before landing upright in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Three vehicles were involved in a rollover accident on Interstate 5 in Oceanside on Wednesday afternoon, according to CHP.

The multi-vehicle crash happened in the southbound freeway lanes near Encinitas Boulevard just after 1 p.m.

A black Ford Explorer crashed with two other vehicles and overturned twice before landing, facing the wrong way, back on its wheels in the center divide. Another vehicle was left blocking a middle travel lane, and a third was in the left lane.

An ambulance was required at the scene and minor injuries were reported. Information about those injured has not been released.

At least one person dead after Oceanside rollover

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was killed in a rollover accident on Interstate 15 in Oceanside early on Wednesday morning, according to CHP.

Details are still unclear, however, it appears that a collision with a truck overturned a silver Honda SUV on southbound Interstate 15 at about 4:35 a.m. The Honda was blocking two freeway lanes and debris was spread over the roadway.

Initial reports stated that one person was unconscious from the crash at the scene. It has been confirmed that at least one person was pronounced dead after the accident. However, details about the victim or victims have not been released.

Officials closed most of the main travel lanes for close to three hours on Wednesday morning and opened up the HOV lanes to regular traffic. All lanes were reopened at about 7:30 a.m.

Driver having breathing problems after rollover crash on I-8

SAN DIEGO, CA – An early morning accident on Interstate 8 resulted in a single-vehicle rollover on Thursday morning, according to CHP.

A few passersby stopped to help as they saw the vehicle lying upside in the eastbound slow lane near Waring Road at about 5:05 a.m. No lights were on in the vehicle.

Passersby found the occupant who had exited the overturned car but was having difficulty breathing. An ambulance was called to the scene.

Rollover crash in I-15 causes morning back up

SAN DIEGO, CA – Traffic was backed up on Interstate 15 on Tuesday morning after a vehicle jumped the center divide and overturned, according to CHP.

A small red vehicle was driving southbound near Interstate 8 at about 5:30 a.m. when it barreled across the center divider and overturned in the northbound lanes. It is unclear whether any other vehicles were involved.

More than one lane was blocked by the accident and traffic quickly began to stack up. Drivers were delayed as far back as Adams Avenue. Crews were able to reopen all lanes before 6 a.m. and traffic was cleared up shortly after.

Single vehicle overturns on State Route 15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on State Route 15 on Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Toyota Corolla was driving north near El Cajon Boulevard at about 7:49 a.m. when it crashed and overturned for an unknown reason. The vehicle rolled over an estimated five times before coming to rest on the righthand side of the road, facing the wrong way.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A single-vehicle overturned in an early morning crash on Old Castle Road in Oceanside on Thursday.

The crash was reported to CHP near the intersection of Old Castle Road and Pamoosa Lane at about 1:41 a.m. The car landed, overturned, in the roadway.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A single-vehicle accident was reported on State Route 79 in Temecula on Tuesday morning, according to CHP.

Box truck overturns on I-8

SAN DIEGO, CA – An Enterprise box truck crash and overturned on Interstate 8 on Monday morning in El Cajon.

According to CHP, the truck was in the fast lane. The vehicle was reported to have been swerving in and out of its lane at about 10 a.m. just a couple minutes before the driver lost control and the vehicle turned on its side then all the way over. Finally, the vehicle went down an embankment.

The crash necessitated closing one lane while the truck was recovered.

An ambulance was called the scene of the single-vehicle crash, but injuries have not been confirmed.
