Update: Man killed, woman seriously hurt in Ramona head-on collision
RAMONA, CA – A man was killed and a woman was severely injured when their two vehicles collided head-on in Ramona on Thursday.
According to the Times of San Diego, the previously-reported crash occurred on Julian Road (also known as State Route 78), near Magnolia Avenue, at about 6:45 p.m., when a 1998 Honda Civic crossed into the path of oncoming traffic.
The driver of the Honda, a 28-year-old man from Vista, collided head-on with a 2019 Ram pickup truck operated by a 56-year-old woman.
The male driver died at the scene.
The other driver was airlifted to the hospital in Escondido with serious injuries. She is expected to survive.
It is unknown if intoxicated driving played a role in the collision.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
