Chilcoot, CA- Roadwork Flagger And Driver Injured In Highway 70 DUI Crash

A California roadwork flagger sustained major injuries and a driver was also injured in a suspected DUI crash in cone zone Monday night, July 8, 2019, in Chilcoot, CA. According to the California Highway Patrol, a few minutes before 8 pm, Eugene Hill Of Palmdale, CA, was headed west on Highway 70 in a Toyota Tundra, approaching a roadwork area. A flagger was then holding a stop sign at the time and the driver of a Nissan Rogue was stopping at that sign. According to CHP, Hill struck the Nissan at high-speed, and the Nissan hit the flagger, who was then thrown into the air, landing in a ditch. He sustained major injuries from the accident. The Nissan also landed in a ditch. Its driver was reportedly sustained moderate to serious injuries. The Toyota also overturned. Its driver, Hill, was arrested under the suspicion of felony DUI and was booked into the Plumas County jail. Hill only sustained minor injuries.

Pedestrian Killed By Swerving Truck in Riverside

A woman was struck and killed in a severe pedestrian wreck that occurred on February 24, 2012, around 12:29p.m. on Arlington Avenue, west of Fairhaven Drive in the far western end of the city. According to Lt. Eric Charrette, a black pickup crossed the double-yellow line, causing the driver of another truck to veer off the road to avoid the collision. Unfortunately, the driver instead ran into a female pedestrian walking east along the south edge of the street.

Elderly Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Ventura County Car Crash

81-year-old Barbara Fritschel was struck and injured in a serious pedestrian wreck that occurred on February 21, 2012, around 8:30 a.m. on a Thousand Oaks sidewalk. According to the authorities, Fritschel and 79-year-old Martha Bielke were walking on a sidewalk in the 1400 block of Calle de Oro. Both of them stumbled and fell while trying to move out of the path of a motorist backing out of a driveway.

The driver, 63-year-old Marsha Mann, did not see the pair and continued backing up. He drove over Fritschel. Immediately afterward, Mann stopped at the accident to call for help. Fritschel was treated at the scene and was later transported to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center. She is in stable condition but remained in intensive care. San Diego Car Crash Injures Child

A boy was struck in a severe car crash that occurred in February 20, 2012, around 5 p.m. in Sunset Cliffs in Point Loma. According to the police, the child was struck and injured at the intersection of Cordova Street and Ladera Street.

A 28-year-old pregnant woman was struck by a taxi at 4800 Camino De La Plaza on January 3, 2012, around 7:30 p.m. in San Ysidro. According to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros, woman was crossing the street (not in a crosswalk) when a westbound taxi hit the in the roadway.

The woman was seven months pregnant and lost her unborn child in this tragic pedestrian crash. The pedestrian also suffered severe head trauma and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Gloria Serrano was seriously injured in hit-and-run auto accident that occurred on January 5, 2012, around 5:40 p.m. at Elmhurt Street. According to the police, Serrano was attempting to cross Otay Lakes Road when she was hit by a northbound sedan.

A 35-year-old man and his 5-year-old daughter suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident that occurred on December 8, 2011, in Serra Mesa. According to San Diego Police Sgt. Art Doherty, both father and daughter were crossing Ruffin Road when they were hit by a red pickup. The two were walking in a dark section of the street to the mother’s house when they were hit.

Medics immediately transported the father to Mercy Hospital to receive treatment for multiple broken bones in his left leg and a brain bleed. The young girl also suffered a broken jaw and was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital for medical treatment. From the present information, it is unclear what caused this major truck accident that left two people severely injured. The man driving the truck said he did not see the pedestrians.
