A California Highway Patrol motorcycle officer was injured after he was by a vehicle on Bay Bridge on Wednesday morning, August 14, 2019. The crash reportedly happened when the CHP officer was trying to pull over another driver. The CHP officer was making a traffic stop on westbound Interstate Highway 80, just past the toll plaza at around 7:20 am. when another vehicle cut across 2 lanes and sideswiped the CHP officer. The motorcycle then went down. The CHP officer was taken to the hospital after the crash. The CHP officer, though, has been expected to recover from his injuries. The driver of the vehicle that hit the CHP motorcycle officer stopped at the crash site after the accident. The driver was reportedly cooperating with investigators as the accident was being investigated.
