North Hollywood- 1 Person Injured After Teen With Autism Crashed Car Into Other Vehicles And An Apartment Building
A 13-year old boy with autism and impaired hearing who was reported as missing crashed a utility truck into several other vehicles and an apartment building in North Hollywood on Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2019. 1 person was injured due to the accident. The police reportedly began chasing the truck that the teenager was driving around 3 pm at Cold Water Canyon Avenue and Victory Boulevard. The truck that the teen was driving was a reported stolen vehicle. The teen was driving erratically when police officers began chasing him. The truck then hit a white car broadside on Sherman Way. This crash caused 1 person to be injured. The teen, however, still continued driving, thereafter. According to police, the truck hit more several vehicles before it crashed into an apartment building on Troost Avenue, north of Sherman Way. The teen got out of the vehicle and went into an apartment complex where he was detained by police officers.
