Motorcyclist injured in Chula Vista crash on I-805
SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcycle rider was struck and injured by a vehicle on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista early on Friday morning.
According to CHP, the rider had been headed north when they were struck by a sedan at the Bonita Road onramp at about 6 a.m. The rider went down in the roadway and was unable to move until authorities arrived to help.
Authorities ran a traffic break to slow traffic and were able to safely move the victim to an ambulance. Medics transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
It was unclear whether the car’s driver remained on the scene.

Motorcycle versus car accident in Fallbrook injures one
SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle versus car accident on South Mission Road in Fallbrook on Wednesday morning.
According to CHP, the accident happened near the intersection with Ammunition Road just after 7:30 a.m.
One person was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Their injuries were reported as not life-threatening.
The westbound direction of Ammunition Road was shut down for a time by the first responders.

Motorcycle backs up traffic on I-5 in Chula Vista
SAN DIEGO, CA – Traffic was bumper to bumper after an accident involving a motorcycle on Interstate 5 in Chula Vista on Monday afternoon.
According to Caltrans San Diego, the accident was reported near J Street in the southbound lanes shortly before 3 p.m.
The left two lanes were blocked and traffic was backed up as far as East 24th Street. Cars were stacked up bumper to bumper across the lanes.
There is no word on the condition of the motorcyclist or any other involved parties.
Authorities were able to reopen the area before too long.

22-year-old killed in crash with guardrail in Mission Bay
SAN DIEGO, CA – A 22-year-old man was killed after crashing his motorcycle with the guardrail in the Mission Bay area on Sunday evening.
According to the Times of San Diego, the rider was exiting from West Mission Bay Drive to Ingraham Street just before 8 p.m. The man was at a high speed on his 2006 Kawasaki Ninja when he failed to navigate the exit and struck the guardrail.
The impact ejected him from the bike and he died at the scene.
His identity is expected to be released after authorities are able to notify his family.

Update: Pauma Valley motorcycle accident victim identified
SAN DIEGO, CA – The victim of the fatal car versus motorcycle accident in Pauma Valley on Saturday has been identified by authorities.
According to the Office of the Medical Examiner, the victim was a 50-year-old El Cajon man named Marcelo Periera.
Periera had been eastbound on his motorcycle on South Grade Road when a westbound sedan crossed the center line and struck the bike head-on. The impact ejected the motorcyclist from his bike onto the sedan. He then rolled to the ground.
A helicopter airlifted the victim to Palomar Medical Center where he was pronounced dead after life-saving efforts were unsuccessful.

CHP motorcycle officer seriously injured in Escondido crash
SAN DIEGO, CA – A California Highway Patrol was seriously injured in an accident near an Escondido shopping center on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Fox News San Diego, the CHP officer west riding a motorcycle eastbound on Via Ranch Parkway. At about 12:45 p.m., a Nissan Rogue pulled out in front of the officer from Lomas Serenas Drive and they collided
The on-duty officer was ejected from his bike. He was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious injuries.
At this time, his name has not been released to the public.

Head-on motorcycle crash near San Pasqual Valley injures two
SAN DIEGO, CA – A head-on motorcycle versus BMW accident left two people with injuries near the San Pasqual Valley in Escondido on Friday afternoon.
According to Fox News San Diego, the motorcyclist was headed east on a 2016 Honda RS motorcycle on San Pasqual Valley Road. In the 18900 block, at about 4:30 p.m., the 35-year-old rider crossed into oncoming traffic a struck a 2015 BMW 328i head-on.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the BMW, a 40-year-old woman, sustained a minor head injury. The two children passengers, 4 and 10, were uninjured.
An investigation is ongoing.

Motorcyclist escapes accident on I-5 after mean prank
SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcyclist was injured in what is being described as a mean “prank” on Interstate 5 in San Diego on Tuesday morning.
According to CBS 8 local news, Servando Lopez was driving home just before noon on I-5 near I-15 when someone rolled a tire into the road in front of him causing him to crash in the travel lanes.
With the help of passersby and drivers who stopped, he was able to safely get out of the freeway lanes.
Witnesses spotted a man who rolled the tire into the road, although Lopez was not able to catch the culprits on the video recorder he happened to have on his helmet.
Lopez is thankful for his helmet and jacket that helped him survive without serious injury.
His bike was towed from the scene.
State troopers were unable to find the man, who was wearing a light grey shirt, who rolled the tire into the road.

Motorcyclist injured in single-vehicle accident
SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcycle rider sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident on an interstate ramp in San Diego on Tuesday morning.
According to CHP, the motorcyclist was headed from I-5 north to SR-75 south at about 6 a.m. The rider lost control and went down on the connector ramp.
The ramp was partially blocked, as well as the righthand main lane.
Thankfully, the rider escaped serious injury.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A lane was blocked on Interstate 5 after a traffic collision involving a motorcycle on Monday afternoon.
According to Caltrans San Diego, the accident happened in the northbound lanes before Sassafras Street at about 3:30 p.m. A motorcycle was involved in the accident.
The left lane was blocked off for a time by emergency vehicles. Traffic was heavy throughout the area.
There is no word on the condition of the motorcyclist or any other involved parties.
