Offramp closed after two-vehicle crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – An offramp on Interstate 805 was blocked after a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A silver Mercedes Benz collided with a grey Honda Accord in the southbound lanes near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at about 6:01 p.m. The fire department blocked the offramp at Clairemont Mesa Boulevard while they worked at the accident scene.

An ambulance was called for but injuries have not been confirmed. We will update this story should more information become available.

I-8 connector ramp blocked following late-night collision

SAN DIEGO, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol were forced to block off a busy connector ramp to I-8 late Thursday night.

According to Caltrans, the accident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. along the ramp from northbound I-805 to eastbound I-8.

No injuries were reported as an immediate result of the collision. However, the ramp was closed for about an hour, reopening at about 12:30 a.m.

Driver causes crash near border trying to exit too late

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver caused an accident after attempting to cross lanes of traffic to exit from Interstate 805 at the last minute on Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, a driver decided at the last minute to exit the southbound lanes of I-805 at Camino de la Plaza at about 11:53 a.m. The driver struck another black Volkswagen that then hit the center divide.

A witness, who reported the accident in a 911 called, said the victim appeared to have been injured in the crash. The injuries have not yet been confirmed.

One lane was blocked for about half an hour until everything was moved to the center divide while emergency crews continued to clear the scene.

Two vehicles crash on Interstate 805

SAN DIEGO, CA – Two vehicles were involved in an accident on Interstate 805 on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The report of the accident came just before 4:15 p.m. A grey Cadillac sedan had spun out across the southbound lanes near State Route 163. It crossed all travel lanes before crashing backwards on a hilly embankment. A second vehicle, a white sedan, was also involved in the collision.

Neither of the vehicles came to rest in the travel lanes and traffic was not blocked by the accident.

It was unknown whether anyone was injured in the crash.

Accident backs up traffic on I-805

SAN DIEGO, CA – An car accident on northbound Interstate 805 was backing up traffic mid-afternoon on Friday, according to Caltrans on Twitter.


The accident was near the exit for Home Avenue, and was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Footage from the accident scene showed emergency vehicles, including an ambulance, but injuries have not been confirmed. The image also shows traffic piling up in the other northbound lanes.

Authorities were able to quickly clear the scene and reopen the lanes.
