An intoxicated driver crashed a vehicle into a house in Humboldt Hill, CA on Friday, June 28, 2019. A couple was inside the house at the time of the crash. The couple was identified as 64-year old Robert Beland and 62-year old Elizabeth Martin. Beland was killed in the crash. Beland was declared dead at the St. Joseph’s Hospital after he was taken there following the accident. 4 people were reportedly inside the house at the time of the crash. However, 2 people inside were not injured. 1 victim in the crash had to be pulled from the rubble. The crash occurred a few minutes after 10:30 pm in the 6000 block of Humboldt Hill Road. The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash was not injured. The said driver was identified as Ryder Stapp from Fields Landing. Stapp was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and was driving at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash. Stapp was reportedly arrested and booked into jail for DUI and hit-and-run vehicular manslaughter.
