Woman injured by hit-and-run driver on I-8

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 8 on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A woman was driving a dark grey Scion in the westbound lanes when she was struck by a vehicle near Mission Gorge Road just before noon.

The other driver immediately left the scene and the woman was not able to give a description of the vehicle that fled.

Injuries were reported from the incident but further details are still unclear. We will update this story should more information become available.

Driver uninjured after truck hits-and-runs in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – The driver escaped injury when a tractor-trailer tried to pass their small SUV and struck them in Oceanside on Tuesday morning.

According to CHP, the driver of a green GMC Envoy was northbound on Interstate 5 when a truck pulling a long white trailer attempted to pass the SUV. The truck rear-ended the vehicle but then continued on toward the north without stopping.

Thankfully the driver was uninjured in the incident. However, the victim was unable to move the stick-shift car and a tow truck was called to take the vehicle from the scene.

Man flees on foot from collision on Interstate 805

SAN DIEGO, CA – A man ran off the freeway after hitting a vehicle on Interstate 805 in Chula Vista on Wednesday morning, according to CHP.

A silver Nissan Frontier crashed with a pickup truck in the northbound lanes of Interstate 805 near East Orange Avenue just before 5 a.m.

After the initial collision, the Nissan crashed into the center divider. The driver, a man, jumped out of the vehicle, ran across the southbound lanes and off the freeway.

No one was injured in the hit-and-run accident.

At least one injured by Coronado Ave hit-and-run accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was injured in a hit-and-run accident that was reported on Coronado Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

According to CHP, the victim, driving a dark blue 2009 Lexus, was rear-ended by a vehicle in the 2400 block of Coronado Avenue at about 5 p.m. The suspect’s vehicle immediately left the scene and was weaving in and out of traffic as it drove away.

At least one person was injured by the hit-and-run accident.

Hit-and-run accident leads to pileup on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – Cars were backed-up on Interstate 15 in Temecula after a large pileup on Friday afternoon, according to CHP.

An initial traffic collision was reported on 1-15 north between a green pickup truck and a silver Lexus sedan near West Valley Parkway at about 4:05 p.m. One of the the vehicles ended up on the righthand side but the second car was blocking a travel lane. In about ten minutes, two more vehicles had become involved in the crash, spreading debris over the lanes and stopping traffic.

The responsible party fled the scene.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the hit-and-run accident.

Motorcyclist left sprawling by hit-and-run driver on I-15

SAN DIEGO, CA – A motorcycle rider was injured when a vehicle struck the bike then fled the scene on Interstate 15 in Temecula on Tuesday, according to CHP.

A good Samaritan called 911 to report the crash that had ejected the rider from his bike on northbound lanes near Railroad Canyon Road at about 5:15 a.m. A black four-door sedan, possibly Nissan or a Subaru, had struck the motorcycle. The impact threw the rider into the center divide, where he was lying when witnesses began to pull over and offer help.

One witness said that a similar vehicle was seen exiting at Central Avenue and investigators were checking the area in an effort to apprehend the hit-and-run driver.

An ambulance responded to the scene to offer treatment to the injured motorcyclist. Their condition is unknown.

Fleeing driver tells Oceanside property owner to call 911

SAN DIEGO, CA –  According to CHP, a hit-and-run driver crashed through multiple yards before fleeing on foot from the Oceanside scene.

A black Jeep drove through a guardrail on South Paradise Creek Lane near Turner Court. The Jeep drove through one yard and into another yard before the driver left the car in a driveway.

The suspect left the scene running toward Valley Center Road through the same property the car had driven through. The suspect yelled for someone to call the police as they ran away.

Their cellphone was found at the accident scene.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Police looking for August hit-and-run driver

SAN DIEGO, CA – Police are asking for help identifying a driver who is still at large after an August hit-and-run accident that left a pedestrian injured.

According to NBC San Diego, the driver struck a 69-year-old man near the intersection of Central Avenue and Orange Avenue on August 14 at about 10:15 p.m. The pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk when the unknown sedan hit him.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries.

The driver did not stop or call 911 but turned onto Central Avenue, then backed up and fled down Orange Avenue.

Surveillance footage shows that the sedan may have been dark-colored. It might have damage to the front end.

Anyone with information is asked to please contact the police with what they know.

Hit-and-run crash involving rental car reported in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – A rental vehicle crashed into a ditch in Oceanside early Tuesday morning, caught fire, and was then abandoned by its driver, according to CHP.

A black Chevrolet Camaro crashed just before 5:15 a.m. in the 27800 block of Valley Center Road. The vehicle hit a fence, crashed into a fence, and then caught fire.

When emergency workers arrived on the scene, they discovered that the vehicle was a rental and had been abandoned. An initial call to the rental center did not reveal any details on who rented it.

Police still looking for driver who struck bicyclist, fled

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities are looking for the public’s assistance in their search for the driver who struck a 66-year-old bicyclist on Friday, according to CBS 8 News.

The hit-and-run in Middletown was reported at about 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of India Street with West Washington Street. The bicyclist was left with life-threatening injuries when the 2005 Dodge Caravan struck him head-on.

The Caravan, with license plates reading RRJ7004 fled the scene. The van appeared to be carrying two passengers. The driver and both passengers exited the vehicle and approached the victim before leaving ahead of the emergency crews’ arrival.

The victim had been riding in the right lane, designated for sharing between bikes and cars when he was struck.

Anyone with information is urged to pass what they know onto police.
