El Cajon hit-and-run leaves driver injured

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver fled on foot from a hit-and-run accident in El Cajon that left another driver injured on Thursday afternoon.

According to CHP, a dark grey Ford pickup truck crashed into a tan Chevrolet Malibu on the offramp from northbound SR-125 to Jamacha Road at about 1:20 p.m. The driver of the pickup truck jumped out and fled on foot.

The sedan began to catch fire.

The driver of the sedan was also injured in the accident. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Firefighters knocked back the fire and had the vehicles towed from the scene.

Elderly man killed by hit-and-run driver in Chula Vista

SAN DIEGO, CA – An 85-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in an accident in Chula Vista on Sunday evening.

According to Fox News San Diego, the victim was found on the ground near the intersection at Del Rey Boulevard and East H Street at about 6:30 p.m. An investigation determined that the elderly man was making his way across East H Street when he tripped. A dark-colored Toyota sedan from between the years 2015 to 2018 then struck the victim and did not stop.

Paramedics were unable to save the victim, despite initiating life-saving treatments. His identity is being withheld until his family can be notified.

Police are asking any witnesses to contact the authorities as they continue their efforts to find the driver.

Erratic driver damages guardrail, flees scene in El Cajon

SAN DIEGO, CA – An erratic driver crashed in the guardrail on State Route 125 then fled the scene on foot in El Cajon on Friday morning.

According to CHP, an “older model” white Mazda 3 sedan was northbound SR-125 near Grossmont College Drive at about 6:58 a.m. The driver was swerving in and out of his lane then spun out and crashed into the guardrail in the center divide.

The driver, a man, immediately got out of the car and fled the scene. The guardrail was damaged but the man did not appear injured.

When authorities arrived shortly after the crash, the vehicle was abandoned.

Several vehicles involved in SR-15 hit-and-run crash

SAN DIEGO, CA – Several vehicles were involved in a hit-and-run accident that left at least one person injured on State Route 15 on Thursday evening.

According to CHP, a 911 caller was reporting an accident on State Route 15 south near University Avenue at about 6 p.m. when they dropped their phone after getting struck by an involved vehicle. The 911 caller was driving a truck. A Hyundai Elantra was involved, as well as a black Ford Expedition, which lost a tire and wheel in the collision. It is unclear the total number of vehicles that were involved.

At least one person was injured in the accident.

As authorities began investigating at the scene, it was discovered that the at-fault driver had left the scene. A description of their vehicle was not available.

Driver flees after causing accident on SR 78 in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities were keeping an eye out for a badly damaged vehicle that fled a Wednesday crash scene in Oceanside on Wednesday morning.

According to CHP, the driver of a gold Mercedes sedan was swerving in and out of lanes on westbound State Route 78 when they lost control near Mar Vista Drive at about 9:30 a.m. The gold sedan slammed into a white box truck.

Within ten minutes of the crash, the driver of the Mercedes left the scene. Officials were on the lookout in the area for the vehicle, which had been badly damaged in the crash and seemed likely to be able to drive very far.

An ambulance responded to the scene. Injuries have not been confirmed.

Victim hospitalized after hit-and-run accident

SAN DIEGO, CA – One person was transported to a local hospital after a hit-and-run accident on State Route 125 in El Cajon on Sunday afternoon.

According to CHP, a resident of Sweetwater Road reported a traffic collision involving a Honda CR-V just before 6 p.m. on State Route 125 north near SR-94.

When emergency crews arrived on the scene, including paramedics, they found the driver still inside the vehicle that had landed off the road. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident was determined to be a hit-and-run. The at-fault driver remained at large on Sunday evening.

At least one injured in a hit-and-run in Temecula

SAN DIEGO, CA – At least one person was injured in a hit-and-run accident on State Route 74 in Temecula on Wednesday evening.

According to CHP, two white Hondas, one a Civic and one an Accord, were involved in a crash in the 24000 block of State Route 74, which is near West Ellis Avenue, at about 5:30 p.m.

At least one person was injured in the accident.

The at-fault driver, potential a man who was seen in the area near the crash, fled the scene.

The condition of the victim has not been updated at this time.

Ambulance responds to possible hit-and-run in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – An ambulance was en route to a three-vehicle traffic collision on State Route 78 in Oceanside on Tuesday evening.

According to CHP, the involved vehicles were a maroon Honda Accord, a blue sedan, and a white pickup truck that was pulling an empty trailer. The three vehicles crashed in the eastbound lanes near Emerald Drive at about 6:15 p.m.

The white pickup truck was driving recklessly at high speeds before the accident and then left the scene within five minutes of the accident being reported.

Two lanes were blocked by the vehicles.

An ambulance was called to the scene. Injuries have not been confirmed but all parties were able to exit their vehicles.

Woman injured by hit-and-run driver on I-8

SAN DIEGO, CA – A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 8 on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A woman was driving a dark grey Scion in the westbound lanes when she was struck by a vehicle near Mission Gorge Road just before noon.

The other driver immediately left the scene and the woman was not able to give a description of the vehicle that fled.

Injuries were reported from the incident but further details are still unclear. We will update this story should more information become available.

Driver uninjured after truck hits-and-runs in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO, CA – The driver escaped injury when a tractor-trailer tried to pass their small SUV and struck them in Oceanside on Tuesday morning.

According to CHP, the driver of a green GMC Envoy was northbound on Interstate 5 when a truck pulling a long white trailer attempted to pass the SUV. The truck rear-ended the vehicle but then continued on toward the north without stopping.

Thankfully the driver was uninjured in the incident. However, the victim was unable to move the stick-shift car and a tow truck was called to take the vehicle from the scene.
