A 24-year old man was knocked unconscious after he was hit on the head by fireworks during the Fourth Of July celebrations on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Oxnard, CA. The man was found suffering from a head injury on the roof of an apartment building. Based from the results of an investigation, it was believed that the man had been lighting illegal fireworks when a mortar shot up and hit him in the head, knocking him unconscious. The man was believed to had been injured in the head and knocked unconscious a few minutes before 9 pm. Medical personnel were dispatched to the man’s residence at Cuesta Del Mar Drive in Oxnard.

A 28-year-old pregnant woman was struck by a taxi at 4800 Camino De La Plaza on January 3, 2012, around 7:30 p.m. in San Ysidro. According to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros, woman was crossing the street (not in a crosswalk) when a westbound taxi hit the in the roadway.
The woman was seven months pregnant and lost her unborn child in this tragic pedestrian crash. The pedestrian also suffered severe head trauma and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Singer Gaven DeGraw was hit by a cab minutes after being attacked in NYC early Monday‚ August 8. The musician was transported by an ambulance to Bellevue Hospital and treated for severe injuries.
Law enforcement reports that a witness saw the cab strike the singer and called 911. Gavin’s rep says that the singer is suffering from multiple wounds‚ including a concussion‚ broken nose‚ black eyes‚ cuts‚ and bruises.

Two bikers suffered serious injuries in a San Diego motorcycle accident that occurred on May 7‚ 2011‚ around 2:40 p.m. at a Mount Hope neighborhood park. According to the responding San Diego Police Sgt. Ray Battrick‚ one motorcyclist was attempting to park his 2006 Harley Davidson on Gateway Center Drive near Market Street‚ when he was hit by a speeding 2007 Yamaha motorcycle.
Both the bikers suffered serious injuries. Sgt. Battrick told reporters that the Yamaha biker was speeding when he hit the Harley motorcyclist‚ who suffered minor bruises. The Yamaha motorcyclist‚ however‚ suffered a broken leg and major head injury. Read the rest »
Researchers at the University of California at San Diego recently received a $100,000 grant from NFL Charities to study traumatic brain injury (TBI) in military personnel and will ultimately expand the study to include high school and college athletes.
The grant represents part of a total grant package to 16 different research institutions across the country totaling over $1.6 million for sports-related medical research. More than $1 million of this research focuses on concussion prevention and treatment.

A man fractured his skull in a San Diego dirt bike accident that occurred on October 9‚ 2010‚ around 3:15 a.m. San Diego Police Department officer Frank Cali said that the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when he was thrown off a dirt bike in an industrial parking area in San Diego.
The injured man was riding his bike in a parking lot at 4592 Alvarado Canyon Road when he struck a planter box and was thrown off the bike. The injured motorcyclist was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Read the rest »
Boney James‚ a well known jazz saxophonist‚ was struck by an alleged drunken driver in Long Beach while he was heading home on May 15‚ 2010. According to Boney’s publicists‚ his car was rear ended while he stopped in traffic along Interstate 405 (I-405). The auto accident was a major one and left him badly hurt with gash on his chin‚ a fractured jaw‚ and 2 broken teeth.
